The room had the essentials and the air conditioning worked well, which was appreciated. Unfortunately, the customer service left a lot to be desired.
We arrived about 30 minutes before check-in and found nobody at the front office. While looking for a sign or phone number to call, an employee approached us and rudely asked what we were doing there. I explained that we had a reservation and simply wanted to check whether the room might be ready a little early. Before I could even finish my sentence, she abruptly replied, “No.” There was no further explanation, nor were we invited to wait in the office or at the hotel’s restaurant.
The front office is very small, but at least it was air-conditioned. Since we were not offered a place to wait, we returned outside and eventually walked to a nearby restaurant, only to later discover that it was actually part of the hotel.
The checkout experience was equally frustrating. At 10:00 am, there was again nobody at the office. There was no sign, phone number, key drop box, or instructions on what to do. I spent about 20 minutes trying to find someone or figure out the checkout process. In the end, I left the keys in the room and sent a message to the hotel, which was never answered.
While the room itself was adequate, the lack of communication, poor customer service, and absence of basic check-in and checkout procedures made for a disappointing stay.
