The room had a good massage chair that worked well! The first day there was a fishy smell all across the property and the room smelled like it had been smoked in.

This property is well and centrally located in a busy shopping street surrounded by the residential neighbourhood. There are good breakfast places and restaurants nearby. It is a short walk to attractions such as Tudor House and Dumbarton Oaks. Unfortunately during our stay there was a fire alarm at 1130 pm, for which we went downstairs in our PJs. We were told to return to our rooms. A fire truck arrived. We had loud water dripping behind the wall by one of the beds for about 2 hours although at some point we fell asleep despite worry that a wet ceiling may fall down upon us during the night. No announcements were made at any time. There were people speaking loudly in the hallway. The next morning we asked what happened and a sprinkler had gone off on the roof. The elevators were not working, with large blowers in each presumably to help dry out the damage. We left our bags in storage as we had a flight in the evening and when we returned there were FBI agents in the lobby. Our flight was cancelled because of the torrential downpour with lightning that also occurred around midnight washing out roads and taking down trees. We debated booking a 2nd night to avoid moving hotels but decided to stay elsewhere. This may all have been out of the hands of the hotel staff but whenever we passed the front desk the staff were sitting there busily engaged with their mobile phones, likely for personal use. No compensation was offered (e.g., free breakfast)

The only problem was that they were working on the water pipes and at nine AM the water was turned off until 3 PM. That was a bit inconvenient for us so we checked out earlier than we had planned, cancelled our afternoon train tickets and headed by Uber to our next hotel in Baltimore, which allowed us to check in very early. Front desk was awesome helping us to arrange the Uber.
