8.2/10 Very Good! (1,219 reviews)
I only stayed one night, if that. I didn't find the check in person to be friendly, it felt a little like I was a bother to him. The room needed to be dusted; it was obvious it had not been done in a while. The shower floor had chips and the shower ceiling paint was starting to peel. The bartender at the tiki bar refused to serve my friend and I, which made me wonder if gay couples aren't welcomed here. Even though we aren't gay, just two good friends, but since it was a couples only retreat, it would be fair of someone to assume we were. Gay or not, we should have been served - we were friendly, patient until it was clear we weren't going to receive a drink at which point we just left. Breakfast was ok, nothing great. The pancakes had been sitting for a while and definitely were not fresh.
Given the price of the room, I would have expected MUCH better, all the way around! Had it been a motel, I would have given it 5 stars, however, at $600+ per night, I expect perfection!
