Les Voisins de l'Illet
9.8 out of 10, Exceptional, (28)
"WOW, I can't say enough! If you want a perfect place to use as a home base for exploring bretagne, this is it. This second floor room is spacious, clean, safe and comfortable. The living room is tastefully decorated. The location is on the edge of a small village a few kilometers from the highway, close enough to be convenient, but with no traffic or noise. Mathew and Miya, our hosts was available when needed, and provide an excellent breakfast, which came with the room. The yard was...

"Rooms are above a Tabac which closes at 7pm (9pm on a Friday). You get the key for the bar/shop which you go through to access the back stairs to the rooms, taking care not to trigger the alarm behind the counter - it’s very loud!! No other bars/restaurants in the village; nearest “life” is in Combourg although there is a fabulous boulangerie across the square."

Château de Boucéel

"Bouceel Castle was a splurge stay for my wife and I but we only planned on staying 1 night in this area and it was well worth it. We were so impressed with our room, our view, the grounds, the decor... it was a shame we only booked one night. The highlight of course was learning about the history of the home and it's original owner. Very interesting and very sweet that he took the time to share it with us. What more can I say? It is a very special place. However, and perhaps most would consider...

When is the best time to book a B&B in Fougeres?
The most popular time to book a B&B in Fougères is during the spring months of May and June. This delightful period welcomes travelers eager to explore the charming streets and historic sites of this picturesque town. With mild temperatures averaging between the mid-50s and low 70s Fahrenheit, it's an ideal time for leisurely strolls through the stunning medieval architecture and lush gardens that define Fougères.

As the high tourist season approaches in July and August, visitors can expect vibrant activity, especially around the enchanting Château de Fougères, one of the largest medieval fortresses in Europe. The warm summer months provide a superb backdrop for outdoor cafes and local markets, bustling with life and offering a taste of the region's culinary delights.

For those who prefer a more tranquil experience, consider visiting in late autumn, specifically November.
