The Old Parlour - timber clad cosy converted cow shed

The Old Parlour is a cosy converted milking parlour offering ground floor accommodation for four.

There are two pretty bedrooms providing easily accessible accommodation. One of the bedrooms has a 5' bed with an en suite shower and the other double/twin bedroom has a 5' zip and link bed. Don’t stay here

Called a parlour in the advertising. Actually referred to as a shed when you arrive. The latter description is more accurate. Rooms smaller than photos suggest. Smell of cow patties. Views of concrete walls or broken down farm equipment. Heat an oppressive 26.3 degrees all night. Beds hard and low. Towels small and crunchy.

Lovely accommodation, brilliant hosts

Lovely property, owners welcoming and friendly. Very helpful. Property was nice and quiet which allowed us to have a relaxed holiday. Pub just a 30 second walk away that offered great food. Shared zone was pretty call although the weather didnt allow us to use it as much as we could have done. Would happily stay there again.

“Parlour”? Don’t make me laugh. Even the sign out front admits it’s a “shed”!

This is the most grossly misadvertised property I have ever had the pleasure of paying for, beginning with the name. They call it the “parlour”, but the sign on the door says “shed” – much more accurate! See photo attached. The publicity photographs are grossly misleading, making the rooms look 100% bigger than they are, and at least 50% better appointed. Driving up is a delight, as the smell of cow patties wafts at you like a wall of stench. The key box was a total pain in the butt to open – took five tries at least. Thank goodness I eventually figured it out, or I’m afraid Bessie the Cow make have tried to sneak in for a midnight snuggle! Once inside, you get to stare out at the lovely sight of old farm equipment, a fact that they conveniently blur out in all the photographs. Yes, I know it’s on a farm, but really? I’ve stayed at other lovingly appointed farm properties listed on other sites. At almost 1000 per night Canadian, there is no way anyone could ever expect this. Beds were low and hard. Walls were paper thin. Internet was painfully slow – I could not even load VRBO’s own website! Small crunchy towels. Oppressive heat with no circulation. Remained 26.3 degrees all night. I’m not sure who the two outstanding reviewers were, but they must have lost all capacity for sight and smell. What a joke. – “So long, and thanks for all the cow patties“
