"Lovely hotel, with excellent Japanese breakfast, and kind and helpful staff always willing to go out of their way to help bewildered foreign children. (They even let us check in early when they saw how exhausted my son was.) Rooms also very reasonably priced!"

Room is good but there were 5 to 6 buds in our room and when we arrive hotel, we were told there is more then enough parking space but we were asked to park the car at another parking that we need to cross around the area. After parking the car, as a foreigner its quite difficult to remember the path back to hotel specially at nite time. Even with google map the path returning to hotel...

Post-hike, we moved from Tokyo to Osaka with a stop at the Ryokan in Shimada. Two families (eight of us) stayed at Kappo Ryokan Uoichi and had a wonderful time. "This is an absolute gem! Gorgeous rooms with top notch amenities. We used there complimentary bikes and bikes all around the small town. There are many restaurants and shops within walking distance. The onsen is complimentary with your stay. Great service, such a treat! "
