Great for families!

Posted Jan 1, 2017
We had 2 rooms for 5 adults. Our king room had a huge bed for the kid. Very comfy and spacious. Elegant old style and a great buffet breakfast. Super busy even at this holiday time of year. Excellent staff! There is a giant indoor water park right next door. Plenty to do. We walked home from dinner in town and boy was it windy. It took about a half hour.

On beautiful Galway Bay

Posted Oct 23, 2016
Location: Walked to town along the gorgeous promenade along Galway Bay. Galway Tours picked us up at hotel for trip to Cliffs of Moher.
Karl O'Sullivan in breakfast room was charming, smile in morning does a lot to start the day off happy!

Great location poor attitude of staff

Posted Oct 3, 2016
Pros: The location and facilities
Cons: Staff attitude
Location: Great restaurants and on the beach
The hotel and facilities were perfect, the staff on the other hand were less than welcoming which surprised us as it was the first time since we have been in Ireland that this has happened. Talking with other guests who were Irish and have stayed there before said the same thing. They come back for the hotel not staff, and hope each time for a change of staff attitude

Great location

Posted Oct 1, 2016
Pros: See above!
Cons: Public lounge areas are dated and not as clean. While room was clean and large it the perfumed cleaning supplies used were very offensive to me.
Location: Go see the swimmers and the diving platform, or better yet take the plunge yourself. Drive to Connemerra especially Clifden and take the sky drive.
Great location for walking the prom, and walking into Galway. Also great for driving trips because you are out of the city with free parking and with easy access to Connemerra. Be sure to check out lovely garden next door. We really enjoyed the Trad on the Prom show which is conviently performed at the hotel. The pool/locker area is recently updated and lovely.

Hotel rooms need a serious facelift. Dingy, outdated. Hotel had a nice beach front location but the walk to town was just that little bit too far so required a taxi.

Pros: Clean rooms & amenities, friendly staff.
The Galway Bay Hotel is located in a great position opposite the bay, great bars & restaurants only only 10mins walk away. The staff were friendly & efficient. The rooms are comfortable & of good size.
