Nice find, comfy and scenic

A nice historic house located in a banana farm in NW Tenerife. Nice and quiet, very comfy. Awesome breakfast and great service. You will need a car to get here and travel around the area. You can go easily to local villages, the beach, Garachico, Teno hike, etc. Would recommend this to friends.

I almost didn’t want to leave a review because part of me would love to keep this place a secret so we can come back and book it again ourselves… but Maria truly deserves the very best review. Casa Amarillo in Garachico is an absolutely magical place to stay. The house sits in the middle of a working banana plantation, which makes the whole experience feel incredibly peaceful and authentic. Waking up surrounded by banana trees and beautiful scenery is something really special, and the historic colonial house itself is stunning – full of charm, history and beautiful details. Our host, Maria, was wonderful. She made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. Her breakfasts were absolutely delicious – beautifully prepared, generous and a little bit fancy, turning every morning into a lovely experience rather than just a meal. What we loved most is how different this part of Tenerife feels compared with the busy, commercial south of the island. Garachico is calm, historic and full of character. Staying here feels like discovering the real Tenerife, far away from the typical tourist resorts. Everything about our stay felt peaceful, elegant and truly special. Casa Amarillo is a real gem, and Maria is a fantastic host. We would return in a heartbeat.

Quite and relaxing

Really nice hotel, so quite and relaxing place. Middle of the banana plantation. A negative thing is maybe the smell and the mold. I think if they take away this this hotel will be soo unbelievable perfect place.

Marie Celeste atmosphere!

Quite nice room but up steep stairs. Breakfast very good inc scrambled eggs. Biscuits, drinks and sweets on offer every day in the common room area. Immediate location nothing special but excellent restaurant called the Miramar in Garachico would thoroughly recommend for quality and pricing and friendly service.

Ideal for romantic German couples

La Casa Rural Amarilla - The Yellow Country House - appealed to me because it was an old finca surrounded by farmland. However, it turned out to be situated in a very isolated place, where the approach was bordered by very high black coralstone walls and it looked very forbidding...once there one had to call a cell number to locate a caretaker who would come to open the gate...this did not happen and in the end we had to call the owner, Teresa, who then got hold of the elderly person who came down to let us in and it took some 20 minutes or more, and the fact that it was late in the day and pouring with rain did not add to the situation. Upon arrival at the house, I found the actual house pretty and nicely furnished. However, upon viewing the room, which was not the room I was promised, I found it dark and rather depressing. The taps in the bathroom for both the shower and bidet did not work and little water flowed through and I saw in fact it was because the faucets were caked with calcium and limescale deposits. The water was not hot, so no nice hot shower and no bath even though we were promised one in our original booking. The beds were reasonable, but the pillows like bricks...luckily I had my own pillow, which I then left behind when we left after just one night, but which Teresa the lady owner kindly brought down for me the day I left Tenerife as she had to go up to her property. The breakfast was not appetising, coffee bitter, eggs cold. Not good.

Authentic rural gem

Really pleased we chose Casamarilla. We spent 2 nights in December and thoroughly enjoyed this authentic, rural gem in the North of Tenerife. It is a little hard to find the entrance off the main road but once there, it's like stepping back in time into this lovely old farm house, filled with antiques, original features, beautiful mountain views and a genuine welcome. Was able to completely relax here in the quiet. Local village with a couple of bars and restaurants and access to coast is about 5 minutes walk away, or larger town of Los Silos is about 5 minutes drive. Breakfast was great and it was nice to have complimentary hot drinks available all day in the formal dining room. Room as described and very clean. Would recommend.

Endroit magnifique, maison coloniale perdue au milieu des plantations de bananes. Personnel très aimable qui sait se faire discret, on a l'impression d'avoir la maison rien qu'à soi et tout est fait pour que le client soit autonome, jusqu'au retour des clés. Piscine agréable avec vue sur les montagnes. Finca bien située pour aller au village. Petit-déjeuner buffet très varié. On a vraiment adoré.

Sehr nettes Ambiente in mitten einer Bananenplantage. Der nahe gelegene Ort ist jedoch völlig tot und wenig ansehnlich. Die beste Möglichkeit Essen zu gehen ist im ca. 8km entfernten Garachico. Ein sehr schöner unsprünglicher Ort mit zahlreichen Restaurant's. Ansonsten in die Unterkunft wirklich sehr nett gerade für Paare. Die Bezeichung "Romantikhotel" mit antiker Einrichtung trifft es am besten.

umgeben von Bananenstauden (leider unreif) kann hier gut entspannt werden; der pool war kalt aber sauber; Frühstücksbuffett ließ keine Wünsche übrig, selbst als wir die einzigen Gäste waren...Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Urlaub in einem Landhaus

Wir waren für 3 Tage in der Finca Casamarilla. Angenehm empfanden wir die ruhige Lage inmitten einer Bananenplantage und die antike Ausstattung der herrschaftlichen Räumlichkeiten. Das Frühstück als Büfett konnte uns überzeugen.

Beautiful and calm hacienda

We stayed for six nights in room #1 of this lovely B&B. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed the location a lot as it is far from the most touristic spots of the island yet permitting to explore interesting areas such as Masca and Punta de Teno nearby. The pool was nice and breakfast was good. Highly recommended!
