We enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing getaway with our 2 dogs. It was fun to explore the farm and meet the horses up close and personal. Letchworth State Park is also a great place to visit during the stay.
We had a great stay here (adults, kids, and dogs). Very cozy, spacious, awesome location, and dog-friendly! Kitchen was well appointed, living room was cute and cozy, and the bedroom was comfortable. Very dog-friendly. Awesome to be so close to the farm and horses.
We have stayed at the cottage several times to bring our son to school and to visit during the year. Our family and our pup love the property and enjoy the spacious of the cottage itself. A home away from home.
Small cottage that is well kept and super clean. The decor was lovely. The farm surrounding is gorgeous and was quiet. Slept four adults and dog comfortably. Would defintley stay again!!
Had a great time staying at the cottage, which was near family who live in the area. Our pup loved running around in the grassy area outside. Cottage was well stocked and owners were accommodating. Recommend!
Our family went to see our uncle and aunt who live in Scottsville on short holiday. It was such a great location and we are farm family from Virginia so we felt so at home. Things we close and easy to navigate. Thanks hope to do it again soon.

am thrilled with the Painted Pony cottage! Comfortable and charming! the Armstrongs
Quiet, peaceful, friendly people. We enjoyed all the folks we encountered. It was great to see an active horse farm, riding lessons, bailing hay, horses in pasture, etc. Our dogs were amazed at these large but friendly critters. It's our 'go to' place when we are upstate NY.
Our stay was very nice. The cabin was cute and comfortable with the amenities listed. I would have liked to have a couple of more towels for ou family of five but we made due. Would definitely stay again and hopefully take that tour and maybe a riding lesson. Loved being able to watch the horses. Good location in a cute town.
We had a wonderful stay at Leg Up Stables. Everything was just how it was described. The cottage was clean and had all the items we needed. Entering and contact with the owner was smooth and easy.
It was the perfect location for us to visit Letchworth State Park and an hour-and-a-half trip to Watkins Glen.
Thank you!
Beautiful horses and peaceful mornings. The cottage was charming and had everything you'd need plus some helpful extras like tea, keurig, outdoor chairs, dog treats, etc...Our dog loved the horses and we fell in love with feeding the baby horses and stallions. Feeding, grooming and riding the horses with Kim and her daughter was a highlight of the trip. We learned some much and felt safe, very enjoyable.Set in the perfect location we easily enjoyed hikes at Letchworth during the day then dinner by the water in the evening.Highly recommend...
We enjoyed our stay at Painted Pony Cottage. It was quiet and peaceful. The price was great! We didn't have time to explore the property but there were so many activities if we had had time. The kitchen was well stocked for meal prep, but Geneseo was so close if one would rather go out for food!
The cottage at the farm was quiet, safe, and had the things one would need for a trip (shower, coffee maker, full kitchen, a/c, TV, wifi). There is plenty of space to walk around and visit with the horses. The owner was on site and was helpful with questions.
Super bonus=dog friendly! :)
I hope to return because it provided privacy, safety and I could bring my pup.
Very peaceful.
My older daughter had been asking me for a horse-riding lesson for years. A week ago, I finally had a chance to do that for her. We stayed at the cottage while helping her move to her first-year college dorm in Rochester, NY.
The cottage was quiet and peaceful. It had everything we needed. The owner's responses were timely and helpful. We had a lovely stay!
Myself along with 2 friends chose this place because it was dog friendly with plans of hiking at Letchworth State Park. The cottage was absolutely perfect and everything it said it would be. It was clean and had everthing we needed for an amazing trip. The fact that it is on a horse farm made it even better. There was so much land for walking the dogs and they loved the horses as well. It was great waking up and looking at horses out of your bedroom window and seeing these majestic beings
We took advantage of the opportunity to take a lesson and ride. What an experience! I cant say enough good things about this place. Thank you Alexandria and Kim for making this a truly blessed trip.
My partner Alessandro and I recently stayed at this unique VRBO, nestled on 250 acres of stunning land with over 90 horses. The property, which was once the farm's office, has been converted into a cozy retreat. While my partner, a hotel enthusiast, affectionately referred to it as a "granny flat," I adored the quaint charm and character of the place. The horses were an added bonus – I loved watching them roam freely, while my partner preferred to observe from a distance, peeking out the side door. The house has all the necessary amenities, making our stay comfortable and convenient. For me, the property held a special sentimental value, reminiscent of my family's old farm homestead. The owner's warm hospitality and 'no fuss' approach made our stay truly relaxing. We'll recommend this special place to friends and family. We enjoyed our stay, and I'd recommend this VRBO to anyone seeking a peaceful, rural getaway amidst nature's beauty.
Cozy cottage within a large horse farm. Surrounding area of gently rolling hills and pristine farms. Directions and contactless access were flawless. Cottage as depicted. Bedroom was very clean. Wonderfully easy access for senior dog, and we greatly enjoyed the wide expanse of yard and places to walk. So enjoyable to view all the horses on the property! Host was responsive and provided a detailed guide and some fresh vegetables to enjoy. I imagine this cottage would especially be a dream place to stay for someone with a horse in tow! We just would have appreciated window coverings - blinds or shades - to block views from the outside at night. There were people coming and going at night, accessing barns. All-in-all, a delightful stay!
We traveled up from SC for my daughter's college graduation. This was a perfect little piece of heaven. We didn't want to stay in the hustle and bustle of Rochester but didn't want to be too far away. The travel to RIT was straight up the highway. Access to the highway, grocery, town, and things to do was perfect for us. We were blessed to have arrived only a week after one of the horses had her sweet sweet baby. The kids loved exploring the farm. Management was amazing! They took time out of their busy schedule to give us on a tour of the farm. Even in the rain! We got to pet horses and interact with the foal. We didn't feel like we bothered anyone coming and going as we did. We were even blessed to witness the Northern Lights over the farm. We hope to stay again when we can stay longer.
We had a great stay! The property was very quiet and fairly private. I was thrilled I could bring my dog. Walmart and restaurants were less than a 10 minute drive. We look forward to staying here again!
