Boulder Valley is a lovely place to stay, nestled deep into a steep lush valley, only the forest sounds at night. The staff are charming and helpful. The monkeys were well-mannered: they were easy to observe and they didn't beg for food or steal our gear. The tents are amazing and the beds comfortable without having to deal with any threat of insect life etc actually inside the tent apart from the odd mosquito especially if it rained (just take some mosquito coils with you). Being in a valley, noise tended to travel especially at night if anyone was partying but generally, once re indeed people were thoughtful. The restaurant was very good with a good range of food all day and in the evening if you booked. Staff were friendly and helpful. Staff here are very friendly. Chef's cooking is simple but very delicious, with home feel. Easy access to nature esp. to National Park in Penang Hill. Just because of the remoteness, it is a place that you just need to disconnect yourself. There is not much you can do apart from reading and listening to the breeze, birds and monkeys.
