Conveniently located in a trendy part of Glasgow.Posted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: Loved the location.
Cons: The rooms would be better if blackout drapes were installed to better darken the rooms for sleeping at night.
Location: For us it was conveniently located to fine dining.
The hotel is quaint and has an old world charm. Yes the beds are a bit lumpy and the furniture a little worn but in a charming way. This hotel was what I expect when booking into a small non-chain property. Parking was no problem for us because we checked in on a Saturday evening and checked-out on Sunday morning so there was ample parking in front of the building at no charge. Parking is likely more of an issue during the week. We were supposed to have a single room that would sleep four; however, because of some plumbing problem we were upgraded at no charge to a two room apartment.

Charming, affordable hotel in the West EndPosted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: Convenient to West End, Kelvingrove Park, University. Easy on-street parking. En-suite bathroom.
Cons: Beds were very hard. Bathroom faucet leaked.
Location: Quiet street. Subway one block away. Close to park, shopping & restaurants.
My wife, 3 mo. old, and I stayed at the Albion Hotel for a few nights while on vacation in Scotland and Ireland. While it's definitely not the Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons, it is affordable, clean, and convenient to Glasgow's West End. We had rented a car and the stretch of Woodside Rd where the hotel is located is a dead end which makes parking easy. The hotel sells full and half day parking permits at the front desk. Our room was a double room (double bed & twin bed) in the attic. The room itself was large enough for the three of us and with some careful placement we were able to make enough room for the baby's travel cot and changing area. There is a small refrigerator in the room that we used for storing milk for the baby. The stairs to the 3rd floor are a bit winding and steep which made getting our luggage up and down a bit of a challenge (there is no lift). I had asked for a ground floor room when we booked but there was a conference going on when we checked in and those rooms were all taken. Full Scottish breakfast came with our room rate and was a decent value, but breakfast hours were limited to 7:30am - 9:30am. All in all, we had a quite relaxing stay at the Albion.

Albion hotelPosted May 9, 2015 on Hotels
Stayed 2 nites in single room whilst visiting family nearby. Hotel is close to subway & handy to shops/restaurants on Great Western Road. Fridge in room was useful. I had very little interaction with staff but they seemed pleasant enough. Served its purpose & I plan to stay here again.

Lovely Place!Posted May 8, 2015 on Hotels
Very pretty and convenient location 1/2 mile from the University, right across from the subway station, and along the river walk on the River Kelvin. Lots of restaurants around. Very convenient and easy place to be. Rooms are certainly not luxury, but clean and very comfortable and pleasant. Staff were very helpful with calling me taxis, storing luggage for me and just generally pleasant. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone who needs or wants to be in the West End/ University of Glasgow area.

A visitors view of the Albion.Posted Mar 28, 2015
Pros: See above
Cons: See above
The Albion is a classic mid-price hotel - a brownstone converted to serve travelers. The room I had was spacious, clean, well heated but not over-heated. The shower was excellent and hot water was available most of time but not not all the time. Several guests complained. I am used to the shortage of hot water in many parts of Europe - goes with the territory and the price. Also on the downside, the stairs can be formidable if you are on an upper floor. The Albion staff was helpful. I appreciated that. The Albion is located within easy walking distance of (1) The Subway, (2) Mid-price restaurants and pubs, (3) The Kelvin Museum Complex (4) Good bus service (5) a loud cheer for A Laundromat! Breakfast was tasty but not unusual, served in a bright room. Finally, the Albion is on a cul-de-sac. You get little street noise. I plan to stay at the Albion again.

Good valuePosted Feb 7, 2015 on Hotels
We asked to move due to a smell of paint and the room being too warm and we accommodated. Both rooms were clean, in a good condition and spacious enough for us. The staff were helpful and friendly.
