"This motel is located in a quiet town north of Christchurch. Although it is close to the highway, we were not affected by any noise. The bed and lounge were comfortable and the two bedroom “apartment” we booked was very spacious. The kitchenette had all the basic equipment we would expect in a kitchenette, which allowed us to cook a meal. There is a 4 Square supermarket within easy walking distance. We were happy with our choice, spending one night here."

"Wow, what an incredibly relaxing weekend, the house was everything we wanted and more. I did need to text the host and ask a question or 2 and she replied instantly. I would absolutely come back and stay again. The electric bbq did us just right and being able to have the fire was brilliant. Thank you nic!"

"Absolutely beautiful stay. The gardens were immaculate, the cottage was spotless, and it had everything we could possibly have needed. Lesley had even turned the heat pump and electric blanket on before we arrived, so the whole place was wonderfully warm and cosy when we walked in — such a thoughtful touch.Communication was exceptionally quick, easy and friendly from beginning to end. We also really appreciated how genuinely welcome our dog was. She had a beautiful time exploring and relaxing with us, which made the stay even more special.A gorgeous, peaceful place that has clearly been cared for with a great deal of thought. We would very happily stay again!"
Cottage within the magical gardens of Flaxmere

"This is a magical spot in Penny's incredible gardens! Even on soggy winter days, we enjoyed wandering the property, and the fire kept us toasty warm in the cottage. Our family enjoyed the thoughtful touches, tea/coffee and basics for cooking (oil, condiments). We loved having so much space to stretch out, and the comfy beds. The shower was unfortunately a piddle, extremely unsatisfying and took ages ages to rinse off. The place could have used a bit more of a thorough clean (especially bathroom and the drawers/floors in the bedrooms), but overall, it was fantastic value, warm and inviting, and a peaceful escape. We enjoyed talking to Penny, and reading about the history of the property. Hopefully we'll be back!"
