Low cost, budget accommodation. Bedding was comfy enough, bathroom clean and tidy and new carpets, but otherwise needing a fair bit of TLC. Fine if you’re not intending to do much more than sleep and shower. Otherwise you might want to up the budget.

Adequate for our needs. A comfortable clean bed, great shower, clean toilet. Unexpected mini fridge and kettle in the room. We chose this place because it offered air conditioning and we were not disappointed. The towels were a bit like sandpaper though. Great for exfoliation! Our host was lively and helpful and welcoming.

To be fair, we only stayed overnight and didn’t realise the lovely location so close to the waterfalls, until we had checked out and went to explore. Haruru Falls are a must-see.

The Lodge it used to be a good place. Now, I guess only a few tourist choose this and mostly workers using for living there. The room was nice and tidy. People outside were very noisy at night and they started making noies in the very early morning.

Simple and clean room

We arrived at night, but friendly staff coped. The room was simple, and clean. Please pay attention to find the entrance to the site of the accommodation. Parking space was wide. A toothbrush and shampoo and body soap are provided, and there is the refrigerator.

The location is good. The staff is friendly. The dental kits are provided which is helpful. Unfortunately, it was noisy in the lodge. People talked loudly, and dogs barking. The public kitchen was dirty.

Stop near the falls

It’s right next to haruru falls. The room was comfortable with its own bathroom. We used the kitchen and had dinner and breakfast outside. It’s close to Paihia if you have a car

We really liked the property. Our room was meticulously clean with linen ready for us. Security was good- we used the communal eating and cooking areas and everyone we encountered was friendly and the area was kept clean by users. Lovely to have a cold one on the deck overlooking the river

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Redecorated recently, nice linen, lovely bathroom. The outside area is in need of repair. We were just there for the night, so it suited our needs. I would put cups in the bedroom as there is a jug. There is also a kitchen available for use.

Photos of rooms seem to be older photos from a few years ago - rooms and facilities are more dated than shown on photos. Shower was not great - alternating bursts of scorching hot water and ice cold water during showers (even if you dont change the tap). Rooms need some renovation. Staff was friendly. The shared kitchen was spacious and had ample pots and pans and cutlery for everyone. Outdoor area was nice and looked out to Haruru Falls.

Not terrible but not great either. The lodge is clean and tidy and the owners are helpful. The rooms are a good size and accommodated our family of four. Our room was tidy also. Unfortunately the upkeep just hasn't been keep in check. Everything is dated and many things are non functioning or broken. The Washing machine was broken during our stay. Like I said, not terrible but not great either. Such a great prospect if it was brought back to life again. I hope the owners are able to get it back to a great standard again someday.

the room was good but couple of issues, shower waste was blocked, need cleaning. Also the glass of shower was leaking and when you take shower the water was coming out. Terrible terrible wifi service. I am not able to understand why hotels don't invest on few $$ to improve internet facility for guests.

Bleh

I stay in many Motels, around 10 per month on Avg. Maybe im spoilt but this one was simply just Bleh considering the cost. Share kitchen which was ok, i ate out instead, but no kettle or jug in room to make a cuppa, no chairs to sit on, bed was ok comfy but moved when sitting as its on wheels, No matter what i did could not get any channels on the tv, so read a book!! Shower was GREAT, good pressure, clean and roomy. I did have a rack to put my suitcase on, Tick, just a rail for clothes which is fine, just overnight so no biggie. The whole complex is run down sorry to say, needs TLC. The grounds are ivergrown, weeds along the paths and driveways, parking area etc I think my room has those Garage style carpet tiles?? I would stay again if thats all there was left, but sadly would go to another town first given the chance.
