About this property
Footsteps to the dunes - Hot Tub - Pet friendly
Tucked away on the edge of Upton Towans Nature Reserve behind the magnificent dune system that forms the backdrop to Gwithian Beach, Salt Life is a stunning eco retreat with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and its own private hot tub.
Perfect for friends or family looking to escape to the rugged beauty of the wilder north Cornish coastline, this home is as environmentally sympathetic as it is good-looking where locally-sourced materials such as timber framing and bee bricks, as well as air source heat pumps, underfloor heating and high levels of insulation reduce the carbon footprint of each home. Beautifully styled throughout, Salt Life's interior is best described as warm minimalist, with a sumptuously furnished space filled with modern design elements, finds just the right balance between paired-back simplicity and luxurious comfort.
Good Housekeeping Bond We ask our guests for a £150 good housekeeping bond, which is pre-authorised against your card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved and then released afterwards if there is no claim. We will contact you nearer the time of your arrival to arrange this.
When travelling with pets, please note that an extra charge of £40 per pet per stay applies. Please note that the maximum allowed number of pets is 2.
Please note that the living area sliding doors are currently broken and due to be fixed by end of April 2026. As a result, the outside space will need to be accessed via the side gate.

Lovely accommodation, clean, great location. We really enjoyed having a hot tub. Accommodation had lovely decor and felt like a home away from home.

Excellent stat
This is our second time to this beautiful property and it did not disappoint every thing was spotless and it is so convenient for the beautiful surrounding areas the only thing was we couldn’t use the hot tub the first evening as it had been changed which is a good thing but when you have only 3 nights it was a shame but wouldn’t stop us returning

Great place to stay but few issues
Its an amazing property and very close to an amazing beach one major issue is access to the property you have to drive past on both sides very over grown thorn bushes which has caused paint damage to the vehicle and the jets in the hot tub only one set worked apart from them 2 issues i would stay again as its an amazing place

Beautifully looked after
It’s a beautiful house with loads of space. It is kept in a truly immaculate condition with everything there that you could wish for on a holiday. Nice touches included like fresh flowers, milk, coffee and cakes. The beds are really comfortable and showers are hot and powerful. Getting from the unit to the sea takes 16 minutes if you are fit and healthy but walking across the dunes probably won’t work if you are not. I went every morning or evening, watching the rabbits and meeting local dog walkers. The local beach is a wonder; three long glorious miles of it. If you take kids then they can play safely in the shallows and there is so much beach (!) that it never seems to be busy. It is truly beautiful and I am itching to book again. People opposite us had stayed there 6 weeks ago and loved it so much that they were back again.

Great short break in Hayle
Booked this accommodation fairly last minute. Very pleased to have found it in one of our favourite areas. Would happily recommend it and look forward to staying again.
Super house with hot tub, has everything you need for you and your four legged friends. We stayed for a long weekend and enjoyed walking through the dunes to the sea and a trip on the train to Carbis Bay.Would thoroughly recommend.

Wonderful week at Salt Life in Hayle
We spent a wonderful week in Hayle and staying at Salt Life added to to the fabulous experience. Would definitely recommend this property and location. Being able to walk straight out from the property onto the dunes was great. Really great beaches and plenty of places to visit, eat out.

Amazing stay
We had a fabulous stay in Hayle, this was our 6th visit to the area because we absolutely love the Upton Towans beach for our dog. Previous accommodation has missed on several points because of our growing teens but can honestly say the Dunes have it all, spacious, ample storage, ample parking, the garden for our dog was amazing, well enclosed and lots of grass and shade. Salt life was everything we hoped for for our stay, have already recommended to friends and family and will definitely be returning.

Excellent, would go again!
Stayed for 7 nights for our honeymoon.
The place was immaculate on arrival, a spacious chalet in a beautiful, peaceful locale with comfy beds, all the mod-cons you could ask for and a supermarket just down the road. The private hot-tub was the cherry on top.
The only disappointment was having to go home at the end of our stay!
Absolutely brilliant, would love to go again.

Big issue for us with hot tub
We book all our locations with the option of a hot tub been prority number 1. Arrived and our attention after walking round was the hot tub. We decided not to go in on first night due to weariness from 6 hour car journey.
2nd day we went in and started it and only 1 seat had any power coming from it. So looking at the buttons we tried to change the settings so more than one seat was working. Nothing would alter this and I spent a long time trying to make it work.
We contacted the lady that had left her phone number for any issues. She got in touch with a hot tub maintenance guy. He spoke on phone and asked me my issue. Explained only 1 seat was working. He said he would come to try to change it. Apparently he did and said this is normal. We have never had a hot tub where only 1 seat was working at full power and the 3 others had a light stream coming out of jets.
So he said he would come again and can we stay in for his arrival. I said we are on holiday can you be more precise. He couldn't be and said he will call to come if he is able to. This is how it was left, never called again during stay and we had to use the hot tub as a 1 seat bath for the rest of our 7 days.
Came back made complaint to luxury coastal. They insist the hot tub is working correctly having had the guy who didn't come back to us give them a report and an apparent independent specialist look and say its working correctly.
I dispute this and have contacted BISHTA who say it sounds like there is an issue, they've not heard a 4 seater hot tub only working on 1 seat unless there is a issue with it.
We got no where with our complaint but with most holiday options you vote with your feet and your voice, I wouldn't recommend luxury coastal and wouldn't recommend this place due to this. We have been told that no one after or before us complained about it, so that makes us wrong. Hopefully any new customers don't find the same issue
