"Nuwerus was one of the "fortunate" yet "unfortunate" places in Paarl that was "hit" hard with the recent fires. It was so close to the main buildings that I can only descibe it as hair-raising. Yet although you can see the fire damage to the gardens etc the service was once again spot-on and the facilities as clean and well appointed as we are used to. The owners really does care about the customers as well as the property. Well done is all I can say. Already booked my next stay."

"Tulbagh is a great base to stay for a few days and Mountain Manor is the best accommodation you could hope for. A short drive from the lovely little town with great restaurants and wine farms. Stunning scenery and hiking trails. "

"Beautiful estate with a pool to-die-for. Nice breakfast, but no vegan options...I had written the owners with questions ahead of time, but never received a response. And while the stable rooms are large, the walls are paper-thin and you can hear your neighbors (tv, conversations, blowing noses.)"

"The photo is misleading and the 4 star rating is inaccurate - it is 2 star. The old house has history and the room with the bay window was very comfortable, but the place is deserted and feels much like a sleepy Australian outback hotel when you have to shout hello to get someone's attention, and the pub is not manned and not open. I cannot comment on other rooms and if you like to be left alone then I suppose it is good value as it is cheaper than other places in the area. There is only breakfast which is rank standard. You have to go out for meals."

"Amazing place. The guest houses are within the actual vineyard. You feel connected to the vineyard and working farm. The staff is also amazing and friendly. Definitely try the pizza restaurant that is located on the property."

"It was raining cats and dogs and walking into reception with the fire burning was quite enjoyable. Reception was a pleasure and seemless. Rooms clean and well appointed. Even with load-shedding the essentials were working and the Grill Room gave excellent meals including breakfast. The only "question" I have is why breakfast only starts at 8. Does result in coming late at the office. "
