"Amazing traditional Japanese experience"

"The staff were so friendly and helpful, we loved the traditional breakfast, they were accommodating to my husband who can’t eat fish. They have a courtesy bus that takes you to Arashiyama which I didn’t know and so glad they suggested. The futons are hard but I got used to them. They also said their onsen is tattoo friendly. But most of the place is in such a spectacular forest it was so pretty in the late autumn I will definitely be going back. "

"We loved the staff and hospitality at Momijiya. My husband said it felt like we were staying at our grandma's house. We loved the ryokan experience as well. We really felt we were getting a more intimate Japanese experience. The food really put us Americans out of our comfort zone, but we wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Our rooms were quaint with nice view, and the comforters on our futons were incredible comfortable. Like sleeping inside a warm cloud. This is a great spot to feel like you're escaping to the mountains but still getting to explore Kyoto during the day."

"If you looking for a quiet family oriented place for 1-2 nights outside Kyoto with a Ryokan and privacy. This is the place. Bring lots of games and books, nice walks along the river. It is not a large hotel and it is not easy to get to. But the right circumstances make this a perfect experience. "

"Everything was perfect , we had an upset with our car hire and Hideo came and pick3 us up from the bus station. He stopped on. The way home at the supermarket, organised for my friend to see local acupuncture Dr, and if that wasn’t enough his beautiful wife helped to prepare the dinner a traditional Japanese meal!The next day Hideo took us on a tour and accommodated all our varied interests, it was wonderful This morning he delayed a trip for himself to take us to the bus, the whole stay was magnificent!"
