  • The apartment is situated above to the owners' family-run real ale pub in the village of Meltham which lies 4.5 miles south-west of Huddersfield on the edge of the Peak District National Park. The small towns of Slaithwaite which is in the heart of the colne valley and Marsden are most attractive and have local shops and tearooms, also two miles from Slaithwaite is Marsden Moor where there are numerous walks including parts of Pennine Way. Meltham itself offers a local supermarket, a selection of takeaway, three pubs, a post office, a local farm shop, a sports club and an 18-hole golf course. There are miles of public footpaths to suit every ability and interest, and the quiet country lanes are ideal for cyclists. Just four miles away is the popular village of Holmfirth, renowned location of the TV classic Last of the Summer Wine, a stunning film location where you can re-trace compos footsteps. The area is also known for it's the route of the Tour de Yorkshire.
