City of Ghosts in Hue in Vietnam is located in the village of An Bang, Phu Vang district of Thua Thien Hue province. The history of the city of ghosts in Hue began in the early 1990s when An Bang was a modest fishing village. But in 1990, when the State began to allow Vietnamese people living in the United States to send money to help their families in Vietnam. These tombs in Hue have all styles of Buddhism, Christianity, Taoism, Islam... which were built by the money of overseas children to express their filial piety to the ancestors. Due to the lack of local planning, there are many tombs covering a thousand square meters / each. In a short time, the ancient sand dunes were covered by the graves. #Culture

The City of Ghosts. Not your normal tourist destination you would think. About a 40 minute drive from Hue this cemetery is one of the most amazing things to see in the area. There are around 200 tombs in this cemetery alone, all of which cost in the region of $50,000 USD. Now compare that to the average annual income of $2000 per person in this village and you wonder how they could afford such extravagant tombs.
We took a traditional boat to the Perfume Pagoda. It is tradition that only women oar the boats.
One of my favorite pictures ever. I love the mist, the mountains, the perfect reflection, the tradition clothing, the shrimp basket.

Luxurious, quiet room with a comfy bed. Very convenient location, ~25 minute walk from the museums and imperial city and ~5 minute walk to the restaurants and shops on the walking streets. They had some construction going on in front of the building, but mostly not an issue. I would gladly stay here ...
