To truly experience Jujuy, take the trip and visit the various communities and landscapes around Humahuaca. Visit the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception and Tropic of Capricorn Monolith in and around Huacalera, about 16 miles (26 kilometers) to the north of Humahuaca.
Regardless of whether you're traveling on the common tourist trail or the roads less traveled, understanding a few useful Spanish phrases will help your journey. Gaining an understanding of just a few basic sentences, such as "¿Querría bailar conmigo?", which, in English means "Would you like to dance with me?", can help to make your stay even more memorable. "Este caballero pagará por todo" ("This gentleman will pay for everything") is also useful.
