This is an incredibly cool old building with a lot of character. The staircases seemed original to the building, with stained glass at some landings. Our room had the original wood ceilings still included. Staff is nice and helpful, and check-in is fine. Location was great.
Getting into the rooms was confusing; ours had an outer door and an inner door, which we didn't realize at first, and only the inner door has the key card access. Room electricity is via the key card, but the slot wasn't very secure; we had to wiggle or position the card just right to get it to turn on. Probably wouldn't have been an issue at all, but we were very tired when we arrived. Room and bathroom were clean, but I think they're starting to be in need of a refresh, especially the bathroom. There's a phone in the room that apparently only sometimes works; this was only something I found out because I wanted to call down to the lobby instead of walking.
I love that they have a coffee machine and a water station in the lobby. We wish they'd had tea for my husband, as other Happyculture locations have had.
I enjoyed our stay here, and would consider staying here again.
