"We loved the bedroom - especially the luxurious bathroom with a deep bathtub and an excellent shower. The staff were extremely polite and helpful (something you come to expect in Japan!), and the location close to the station makes it very easy to make out-of-town excursions. For a country with such an excellent design aesthetic of its own, we found the English country-house décor a little dissonant, but I suppose that is just a matter of individual taste!"

"For years I have come to Osaka several times a year but always avoided staying in the Umeda area. I think this hotel changed my mind. The entire Umekita area sort of took the world by storm in early 2025 just in time for the Osaka Expo, but this was my first time staying there (now in May 2026) and quite frankly, all of the issues I have with staying in Umeda -- the confusion over Osaka Station being sprawling, the hotels all being on dark alleyways, the cramped small rooms that smell like cigarette smoke or oily griddles depending on which thing the hotel is next to -- Umekita is shiny and new and nonsmoking. If anything, I could imagine the complaints some tourists might have about it is that it's TOO nice -- it doesn't really feel like Osaka, it feels like one of the fancy skyscraper districts in Tokyo now. Anyway, Gran Respire, our room was amazing, it had separate toilet&shower rooms, the shower room was huge, the main room had a nice sized bed AND a couch next to it with a table, and best of all, the bed wasn't in a corner but you could walk around it on both sides (maybe only 40 cm between the bed and the window but still). Getting there was confusing the first night but once we figured out to exit on 2F, go across the bridge to the JR Osaka West Exit -- very quick. I would definitely stay here again if I get another good rate (it was like 17000 for a double, which is crazy good for such high quality)."

"The location is amazing, from the sky bridges to the station and mall, to the ability to walk to shops, laundry and green space. The room was large, amenities were good including fridge, nespresso and a wonderful walk in shower. Great service from the cleaning team each day. The gym is perfect and well provisioned w weights and cardio. Amazing view. We didn’t try any food here, no need, mall right there with food courts! I loved this hotel and it was so perfect to travel to other areas such as Kyoto and Hiroshima due to the rail links."
