Some of the rooms have great views of the mountains and park, I asked for a nice view as a request and was very happy. Located at the city center, just 5 minutes walk from Interlaken West station and 15 minutes from Interlaken Ost. The room was very spacious and had a great view, we could even see the Jungfraujoch mountain when the weather was clear. The single room has a larger than normal bed (approx. 120 cm wide instead of the usual 90), and a small but functional bathroom with only soap provided, no shower cap etc. The hotel is located at the corner of a more quiet and a main street, and a pub is on the ground floor. So one night it was a bit noisy for a short while, but altogether a quiet place. I had reserved rooms for one night for my sister and me and mistakenly made the reservations for a day earlier than I meant to. Upon arriving, the hotel desk clerk told me that we had been considered "no-shows" for the previous evening. But then he provided us rooms anyway, and did not charge us even though the rooms had been empty but paid for the previous night. Bed too soft and sinks in the middle, may cause backache .A little noisy from the nearby alley and road as had to open a window for ventilation at night(cool early June weather). Best to avoid in the heat of summer because there is no air cond. No tea or coffee making facilities. On a 2-week 6-hotel vacation, this was my favorite hotel. Well laid-out room and nice balcony. Nice ventilation too with opposing windows to allow air flow with windows opened. I really can't say anything but good things. It is a moderately priced hotel. The staff was always helpful and friendly. We ate breakfast each morning at their buffet and it had the usual cereals, breads, fruits, coffee and juices, yogurt. You could fry an egg or boil it if you like. The location is great for walking around and seeing all the shops, restaurants and sights. It is a short walk from the West train station and within walking distance from the East station. If your room faces the street you have a beautiful view of the mountains. The street noise really was not a problem for us. The room was clean and comfortable and the pillows were thick and fluffy. We had a nice stay at Splendid Hotel. The tripple room was very spacious and clean, The staff was very friendly and helpful. All family members are interested in the guest's comfort. Nice hotel at a great location. Tourist office and ATM across the street. Bus stop very close by. Comfortable large rooms for 2 adult and 2 kids. The room and hotel were very clean, staff friendly and helpful, and the included breakfast quite adequate. My single room was small, but quite normal by European standards. The hotel is downtown, so very convenient for meals and shopping. Unlike some other reviewers, I found it very quiet. Die Zimmer sind sauber, aber in die Jahre gekommen (wie viele Hotels in Interlaken). Bei genauerem Hinsehen bräuchte auch die Fassade einen neuen Anstrich (abblättender Lack am Fensterrahmen etc.). Insgesamt funktionell, aber von innen ohne Charme. Das Personal ist freundlich und entgegenkommend. Zum Teil schien es aber weder Deutsch noch Englisch zu verstehen. Im Frühstücksraum brennt am Morgen ein Feuer im Kamin, was grundsätzlich schön wäre, wenn der Rauchabzug funktionieren würde. So hat man nach dem Frühstück das Gefühl, wie ein Räucherwürstchen zu stinken. They were extremely helpful. The rooms were adequate. Nice but not as nice as the pictures. The bathroom was tiny. The free internet was fairly fast. The free breakfast was OK but there wasn't a lot of choice. I did get to make my own eggs and there was coffee so I was fine with it. The biggest complaint that I have is that the room walls didn't keep the noise out. There is a lively bar on the first floor but the noise didn't make it up to the second floor.There is a small amount of parking about 2 blocks away. Overall, the experience was good. ##### Clarence
