Sorriso Thermae Resort & Spa

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, location , and facilities
Cons: double room which is separate from hotel complex needs the fixtures fixing, some bits made it look unkempt. but always clean and cool.
Location: spa park, town close by. about 30 minute walk. local shops good for the bits you need.. local supermarket (corner shops) are excellent value for fruit
An excellent hotel with wonderful facilities, great health resort. good specialists. close to a wonderful spa park,. Staff at the Sorriso Thermae are excellent, very helpful, always willing to assist. Reception staff are great and will do anything they can to help.. Frequent minibus to the beach and back.. great time. nearby , be prepared to pay about £30 for a day visit to the spa park.. but it has wonderful spa and sauna. great scenery and plenty of places to chill out.

Nice hotel. Beautiful views.

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: We had a balcony view of the Bay of Naples. Beautiful.
Location: Rented a car and spent time in Lacco Ameno.
Thermae pools were amazing especially the one inside the spa. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was delicious.

The swimming pool was excellent with good sea view

Posted Aug 20, 2013
Pros: The pool.
Cons: Choice of food at breakfast and the ambiance of the breakfast restaurant. Despite overlooking the sea, the breakfast area was untidy.
Location: Not much near by. Definitely need transport, preferably a motorino.
Too far from the lovely town centre of Forio. Booked a classic room with Expedia, only to find that we were given standard rooms of a lesser quality. Did not find this out until checking out, then o late to complain.

20 years ago it would have been acceptable

Posted Apr 3, 2013
Pros: checking out
Cons: food
Location: dreadful. Ischia has done nothing to freshen up. Faded and without inspiration. Caribbean Islands - we are coming!!!!
mediocre service; especially receptionists had a hard time to crack a smile. food was an absolute disaster. they couldn't even get the pasta right - let alone more complex food. absolute no atmosphere. hotel bar is allowed to play music on only two nights per week (!). bar mixer has no clue how to prepare cocktails. they have their four star because they are apparently a Spa Resorts, but one sauna for two hundred hotel guests - one small pool cramped with people makes it a very uninspiring experience. the hotel rooms were furnished with outdated closets, beds, year old and uneven matrices and a tiny TV set attached to the wall close to the ceiling. it felt like a prison cell.

Loved the spa services!

Posted Oct 4, 2010
The hotel was a bus ride from the ferrt port, and was very nice. Restaurants good (the best octopus I ever ate!) and the pools were nice. The hotel seems to cater to German visitors, and some signs were only in Italian and German; tricky for English speakers. Fortunately the menus were in English. the spa services were so nice that I went back for more, and could have done even more with more time. AC did not seem to work in room, but windows opened. I thought it was a good value and would go back.

Lovely hotel

Posted Aug 14, 2009
This hotel was lovely, good facilities and really clean. At first some of the staff are a bit grumpy, but then they warmed up. There are 2 downsides to the hotel - it is on a noisy road and it the beach is a 10 minute walk down steep cliff type steps - fine going downhill, but incredibly difficult uphill! Lovely, quaint and rustic area with lots of little restaurants to choose from.
