Since the closest commercial area is 1 hr away, I was very stressed because I had none of our belongings l, including our kids swim gear. I spent so many hours reaching out to the airline, but the true help came when Odalys (hotel manager) helped me contact and go to the local airline’s office to retrieve our luggage when it arrrived. After that wrinkle, our trip was perfect. The food was great, varied options, yummy drinks, plenty of options for the kids. The pools were clean and comfy. The tours offered by the hotel (at a surcharge) were so much fun and the guides so knowledgeable and nice. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. FYI They do not have a private beach on the property. They do offer water-taxi rides to visit the nearest beach. Otherwise when you take one if the tours, you can visit several gorgeous beaches nearby.
