The hotel is nice and the staff are the best - remembered me by name and my preferences and were very generous hearted in general! Some of the food is awesome, especially the American chocolate cake which was ethereal! The rooms are spacious, well equipped and comfortable. The bar also has some great cocktails. The not so great bits: It's a bit noisy because of where it is located (you can hear a faint hum of traffic across the night, had to put on a speaker with white noise to blunt it out). Breakfast has exactly the same menu every single day which gets boring quickly. The bar was nearly empty late into Friday night which was a bit odd. All in all, a pleasant stay but not without some issues.

The view was interesting and the bathroom was nice with good water pressure and amenities. They use sustainable stuff for the bathroom like bamboo toothbrushes. The mineral water was good tasting and was free of charge if extras were needed. Accommodating and friendly staff who were always ready to help. Overall good stay. The bed was also super soft and warm.

Over all good but the traffic noise from the street race in the night are horrible! And did not get any sleep. All the rooms have earplugs next to the bed so I think they are aware of this problem!

I love the Mandrin for its convenient location and undisputable level of hospitality and service. My one major complaint is that the quality and variety of food reduced considerably during Covid and has simply never bounced back. Long gone are the days of fresh bacon and smoked salmon on the breakfast menu, as they have appealled more to the national market. There can be no doubt that recent more nationalistic protectionist laws have made it harder and more expensive to buy international goodss across indonesia, but that's the case in many countries throughout the world and should not be a excuse for a hotel of the standard of the Mandarin. The seafood on the lunch bufett was of a very low national standard. Quite dissapointing really for the price. But rooms and room service,... great!
