Very Nice but Bit of a Smell

We came to stay the weekend to visit friends. The whole place was very nice and clean, but there was a weird chlorine stench to the whole place despite them not having a pool. It was not as bad in the room, but still very disturbing. I'm just assuming this is from too much bleach use but don't really know. I still highly recommend as it is really nice!

I grew up here and was excited for the town when this property was built. However, in a very short time, this property has aged rapidly. I attribute some on the build quality and the rest on care and poor maintenance. It just didn't feel clean. The elevator made some worrisome noises. My bed was comfortable and appeared to have new sheets which was the one positive. I've attached some pics from the room (311). I didn't feel unsafe as it resides next to the Sheriff's department. The survey photo upload feature isn't working for me. I'll try to add them after I submit.

The staff was so nice and accommodating. The room was half clean but I didnt expect much being the only decent hotel in a small city. I had to Spray Lysol in the room, change linens, and Wipe the room with Lysol wipes. I was housekeeping upon check in. The bed linens had old stains. The Bath tub Walls and baseboards were dirty. The rooms need a deep cleaning, repainting, updated linens, and carpets shampooed.

Hotel did not have our reservation when we arrived. Lady at front desk was very nice and apologetic. Called Hotels.com and they had to resubmit the reservation. This process took about 45-60 min. It was already 10:30 at night. We were so tired. Got to our room and it had a dirty diaper on the floor by the bed. Just terrible. We stayed and just left early. Again, the lady at the front desk was very nice and did what she could ti help.

Beds were very comfortable, breakfast was good. However, there were men hanging out in the back parking lot, drinking and playing loud music, it kept us awake for most of the night. I call front desk about it and was told they would try to make them turn their music down but it didn’t work! They were pretty much wasted. When I pay $175 a night for a hotel I would love to have a peaceful nights sleep. I understand that it’s not the employees fault but it was a very restless night. Also, people roaming up and down the halls at 3:00 in the morning, yelling and screaming at each other!

I thought it was a very nice hotel. Really enjoyed the waffle maker and yogurt. Would have rated the hotel higher but one of the staff members was extremely unprofessional and down right trashy if I am being honest. She was a white woman with longer black hair. One morning during breakfast she was screaming and cursing at a young man and two other men just tearing into them and belittling them. That is not what you want to hear waking up and trying to eat breakfast with your husband. That is an embarrassment to the hotel.
