“Stayed in a single budget room which was clean and comfortable. The staff and owner make you feel very welcome. Good breakfast and well stocked bar - nice pint of Guiness. No complaints and great value. Pay and display car park a stones throw at £3 for 24 hours. No food in the evenings but would recommend the Dolphin chippy down the hill. Made a pleasant change from the corporate hotel chains.”

“We had an excellent stay here, perfect location to walk into Saint David’s and the rooms were spotless. Great service from the staff. We tried the veggie and the Vegan breakfast for a change and was not disappointed especially the vegetable sausages! Parking is easy too with no access issues. ”

“Yes....all good. Two minor points 1) Surely you can do better than the cheap plastic beakers in the bathroom? 2) It's very difficult to operate the soap and shampoo dispensers unless you have young,strong and. nimble fingers !!”

“The decor and soft furnishings were gorgeous. Our room was spotless and warm. We could open the window to suit ourselves which I like. It had the feel of a very well- maintained manor house. The dining room has ornate original plasterwork and other original features. Our breakfast was freshly cooked to order and I recommend the porridge and the delicious vegetarian glamorgan sausage. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. ”

“Lovely overnight winter stay. Hotel and rooms are spotless. Comfy bed with quality bedding, everything felt of good quality. Excellent shower and modern bathroom. We chose the Black Lion as we prefer to stay and eat in establishments that do not allow dogs and there aren't many now ( I know some people would disagree and want to take their dogs everywhere but we all need a place we can feel comfortable in and every other venue in town seems to accept dogs now so dog owners have plenty of……
