Good hotel, clean and well maintained. Was expecting the room to be larger and more comfortable however the other benefits of the hotel make up for it. Spa is very good.

Lovely central square hotel

Lovey grand hotel that has been nicely refitted in the central square. The outside terrace is great for drinks in the sun and the location is perfect to walk everywhere in Calmar.

Relaxing stay in Calmar hotel.

We had a very spacious comfortable room. The bath robes were quite nice as were the towels and the sheets. The bathroom was remodeled and it was very spacious. Could’ve used more shelves for toiletries, but that is often in the case in older European hotels. The breakfast buffet in the morning was very good.

Slightly worn wallpaper above the bed, some damaged tiles in the bathroom, no air conditioning in the room, expensive parking compared to street parking, the spa could definitely have had stricter rules regarding keeping voices low, the breakfast area floor needed a deep cleaning, the breakfast staff performed many ergonomically poor lifts, there was only one elevator and it was quite small and slow, the price for the stay was fairly high, worn and non-soundproof windows facing the square, the breakfast setup for food and drinks could have been better organized, but the staff was very friendly.

One of the worst cleaning services I’ve experience

Very poor cleaning! - found a piece of an old cake in the fridge - found a toy under the bed - found the plastic cap of a razor blade in the shower - my room was never cleaned on a two nights’ stay - Brought a tray with a hamburger I ordered at the restaurant on Thursday. Left the tray outside the room. - The tray was still there two days later when I checked out - Saw a man talking to the manager showing her pictures of mildew in muffins/brownies bought at the hotel - Food at the restaurant doesn’t match the price - Serving personnel not very service-minded

Fawlty Towers

Ett centralt belÀget hotell i Kalmar med anor frÄn sekelskiftet 18/19. TyvÀrr har nog inte rummet stÀdats sedan 1910. Och nÀr rumsdörren öppnades kom en stank av fuktiga textilier. En frÀn stank frÄn hallen kunde inte försvinna trots att vi hade korsdrag i rummet. Sprayade en hel flaska parfym, för att sedan köpa ett doftljus som fick vara tÀnt under vistelsen. Under sÀngen lÄg gammalt godis frÄn tidigare gÀster och nÀr man drog med handen pÄ vÀggen sÄ var handflatan full med damm. Alla bryr sig kanske inte om byggnadsvÄrd men att se en sekelskiftesbyggnad med fönster och dörrpartier i aluminium och plast Àr jÀttesorgligt. Man har Àven spikat igen vackra originalfönster för att bygga en pub, vÀgg i vÀgg. Vi hade fönster mot innergÄrd men vÄr utsikt var ett tak full med duvbajs.

BÀsta lÀget i Kalmar. Hotellet Àr lÀtt bedagat och rummen skulle mÄ bra av en renovering. Men det Àr rent och snyggt och allt funkar. Bra frukost Àven om man blir lite sen pÄ att underhÄlla tallrikarna. Riktigt bra personal.
