Kamikawa is approximately 90 miles (145 kilometers) away from Sapporo, a significant city in Japan.
To find out why so many travelers decide on Hokkaido as a place to vacation, make sure you and your companions see a bit more of the wider area. Asahikawa, 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the east, and Biei, 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the northeast of Kamikawa are good places to visit if you're keen on learning more about this region.
Around 65 miles (105 kilometers) to the south of Kamikawa is Obihiro, an important regional center home to JICA Obihiro International Centre, Obihiro Centennial Memorial Hall and Obihiro Zoo. Obihiro Racecourse and Obihiro Wild Flower Garden are other good places to visit.
To discover the heart and soul of Kamikawa, be sure to call into the region's temples. If you are looking for indoor activities, you really can't go past Hokkaido's art museums, nature museums and indoor markets. These are good places to learn about the local lore and culture and perhaps pick up an unusual memento.
If you love to get wet, this is a great place for you. Boating is a common pastime and another great activity is canoeing. The Kamikawa area offers loads of excellent ways to enjoy the great outdoors. Thrill seekers can enquire about one of the horse riding or hiking experiences on offer here.
You'll hate to say "Sayōnara" (farewell) to this appealing area.
