Ride the Asahidake Ropeway to the base of Asahidake Mountain, where trails take you past crater lakes, wildflower fields and steaming volcanic peaks. Powder hounds can explore some of Hokkaido’s best backcountry skiing terrain. Carve up the slopes of Canmore Ski Village or go rafting on the Chubetsu River.
At the foot of Asahidake, Tenninkyo Onsen hot springs village sits amid the verdant valley and waterfalls of Tenninkyo Gorges. Follow a short trail to 886-feet (270-meter) tall Hagoromo Falls and soak your feet in the Heavenly Woman's Footbath.
