"Great city view from the balcony. Kitchen was well stocked-we cooked 2 dinners in it. Location was nice, in a neighborhood away from the downtown. Owner is great and very helpful. It was nice to have all the space after traveling for several weeks. Very homey."

What a great place... Everything was great! As a ryokan, the room was Japanese style, no shoes. The staff was not very conversant in English...enough to get by... and it could NOT have been better. The onsens were fantastic, eating in our yakatas a true experience. At dinner, the staff knew about our allergies and dislikes. The unbelievably wonderful waitress from Vietnam (I foolishly didn't get her name.) assured us at the beginning of our multi course meal that she and they would take care of...

After staying down the hill in Kobe for a week, Arima was a magical retreat. The hotel has multiple private bathing rooms, each with two tubs, different waters in each tub, and traditional onsen squat showers.
The rooms were reasonably sized with somewhat hard but comfortable beds. A very Japanese experience.

Loved our stay at the hotel Monterey! The room was very comfortable and clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. The location is extremely convenient in that it is right next door to the train station and in the most popular shopping area, yet noise was not a problem at all. Would highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel is excellent. Friendly service, they're attentive to your needs at all times. Amazing breakfast. I'm an experienced traveler and Marriott or Hyatt hotels could only dream of the attention and service this hotel provides.

Huge room with equally huge bed and huge 100inch TV (they had a sign). I was on the sanjo highway and needed a place to sleep. It was like 5 minutes from the highway exit. The area has many love hotels and this is also one. Japanese couples go there to escape their small apartments with thin walls. That's why the room has amenities like a massage chair, karaoke, games, minibar, soundproofing, cheap room service and a jaquzzi for 2 people. Also it's very clean, probably cleaner than normal hotel...
