  • Welcome to Sounds Good by KEES Vacations!

    Sounds Good is a 3-bedroom home in Kill Devil Hills and is the perfect location for all OBX adventures. A gorgeous 3-bedroom, 2.5 bath, beach home located near many shops and restaurants, this vacation property boasts comfy furnishings, stainless steel appliances, and classic, modern decor.

    The great room features a dark leather sofa, loveseat, and chair with an ottoman. A reading nook at the front of the third level completes this space. The beautiful wooden dining table seats 6. The stylish kitchen features beautiful dark wooden cabinets and stainless-steel appliances.

    Relax in the Queen En Suite, with accent lighting, flat screen TV, and access out to the balcony. The second bedroom also features a Queen bed with access to the balcony, a flat screen TV, and a common hallway bathroom shared with the third bedroom. The third bedroom features a queen bed and flat screen TV. You will also find the wash and dryer to be located inside of a hall closet on this level.

    Sounds Good also features an outdoor shower, private charcoal grill, first level outdoor entertaining space, and is located just 0.6 miles to the beach access.

    Kill Devil Hills is one of the Outer Banks' most beloved towns, and Sounds Good puts you right in the middle of it all. History buffs will love being just minutes from the Wright Brothers National Memorial, where Orville and Wilbur made their first powered flights in 1903 and forever changed the world. Spend a morning exploring the monument grounds, then grab lunch at one of the area's standout local spots. Outer Banks Brewing Station, the first wind-powered brewery in the country, is just down the road and a local favorite for craft beer and casual dining. Tortuga's Lie has been a KDH staple for years, known for its relaxed atmosphere and fresh seafood. For a quick bite or a morning coffee, Sugar Creek Soundfront and Ashley's Espresso Parlour are both close by. Shoppers will enjoy browsing the mix of coastal boutiques, surf shops, and specialty stores along the Beach Road and Croatan Highway corridors. Great Beach House!

This house was great! Very clean. Check in was easy. Close to many public beach parking places, restaurants and plenty of shopping. Easy to see the sunrise in the morning and within walking distance to catch the sunset! We enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back again I would definitely recommend this place!!

We love the layout of this house and greatly enjoyed our stay here. The neighborhood was very convenient yet also quiet. Property managers communicated with us on a regular basis just to ensure we were having a good stay.

Perfect

Our stay was AWESOME. House was clean, a fresh of clean air (the place we originally booked was horrible in every way possible). We were up all night looking for a place to stay and came across Sounds Good. We all loved it and would definitely stay again. We bought some pails and shovels for the beach and left them in the outside shower area for the next family. Basically, we loved the house and the area and would rent again.

Sound Sleep

We enjoyed our stay here, the only real complaints was the mattress was too firm also, no central binder with all of the info(wi-fi password, tv instructions..etc). Overall it was a beautiful house and very spacious

Good time

Everything was great. The jets in the tub need cleaned . There is mold in them so we did not use it. Also could ave used a skillet big enough to cook for 5 to 6 people. Bought another and cooked in shifts. Other than that it was great.

Great house

We had a good time. Until we noticed the refrigerator was not working correctly. We had to throw out our food. We did report it and someone came out to take a look. He confirmed it was not working. Just hate wasting money on throwing out all our food.

Great neighborhood

The home is in a nice location on the OBX bay side — there is a great running path and it is close to a public pier. However, being on the bay side and not close to a cross walk meant we had to drive to the beach, which is a minor inconvenience. The house is spacious and well equipped. One recommendation for the property manager is to do a through cleaning and walk through prior to the arrival of your next guests. We were disappointed to find dirty cups, mugs, plates and cutlery in the kitchen cupboards and had to wash them all before using. Despite that minor bump in our stay, we had a terrific time in OBX.

Floors could have been cleaner, the 2 year old we had with us stepped on a glucose needle the first few hours we arrived. There was not a comforter on the bed in one of the bedroom, the drawer in kitchen was broken and was not fixed while we were there. The kitchen sink leaked the last night we were there. Beds were ok, but a better mattress would have been nice to sleep better while on vacation. Not sure we would stay again considering we had to walk further once we got to the beach due to the exposed pipe line, that was so unexpected.

No the best place could be alot better

I ask for a buzzing sound be fix coming from the vent underneath the couch. I had some friends that were sleeping on one of the sofa and the noise kept them up. There were no trash bag, dish washer soup, the tub was dirty, the tub water was backing up so you felt like you were in a spa(clogged).

First family vacation

Overall our stay was ok. Check-in process was easy and fairly decent location. However, upon arrival there were several things that were not clean or working as well as they should. We had bags of trash/dirty laundry on in front of the door, the second full baths shower did not drain properly, and there was blood on one of the pillows in the master. When I tried to call or text it was after hours and then it took two days for a response and when someone did show up, they did not call before hand like I was told they would, nor did she fix the shower.

At first sight, the property was impressive! There were 3 of us (ages 19-52), so space was not an issue. Definitely recommended for families!!Prior to arriving, I reached out to property as I hadn't received any codes. It seems I had forgotten to sign a rental agreement back in April. Yet, after checking my email boxes, I hadn't appeared to receive a reminder on that as the date closed in, so I was concerned that I got charged but no reminders on this agreement. Thankfully, I had initiated contact and got that cleared up.As we stayed longer at the property, cleanliness was overall very good, except for: overhead fans and blwere dusty, cobwebs on lower entance door (I hadn't reached out to property to rectify as most was unnoticed until 2nd to last day). This was our 6th house to rent from all over the country, so there were some things we expected without it written as provisions.There was no dishwasher soap/pod yet washer was expected to be run. There was liquid dish soap with a provided sponge so we could do the dishes. 1 trash bag was provided, which was tricky for a week's stay. With only a single set of towels/person for the week, our choice to wash them midweek, so we had to buy laundry soap.No paper towels or tissues. Hotels provide tissues at least, so we had to buy those too.No menus or lists or local eateries/delivery services.Only 1 spoon in the drawer (teaspoon).These may be dumb things and easily rectified on our part. I would still recommend this house.

Things to change

First of all, I suppose this house was for someone much younger then myself and husband. My son wasn't real happy with the beds. We weren't also. The table and chairs in the living/eating area where much too high. Was like sitting on a bar stool with table to match. The couches and chairs were extremely difficult to get out of. Much too soft. I would stay in the area again, just with maybe a different company.

Excellent location

The house was spacious, comfortable, clean and attractive. It was close to restaurants, souvenir shops, the beach and grocery stores. There were no problems during our time there. We enjoyed our stay.
