Added to the Kill Devil Hills Historic Landmarks list in 1999, this beautiful old-school cottage is a must see. Convenient, charming, comfortable, well-equipped, tastefully decorated: It’s so hard to describe Waterloo that you will just have to come see it for yourself, and when you do prepare to fall in love. Waterloo still contains many features from its original 1937 construction. The wood floors are intact. The interior doors are original, as well as the tongue and groove paneling on the walls and ceilings. Despite the classic feel, additions throughout the years ensure that all current needs are met, whether it is margaritas on the expansive decks and covered porches or pancakes in the morning with the grandkids in the large kitchen, renovated to meet modern standards. One trip to Waterloo and you’ll be making it an annual tradition. The central location means all necessities, such as grocery stores, restaurants and shopping, are nearby. However, with the comfort of the central air-conditioning, well equipped kitchen, and multiple tv’s at Waterloo you may just want to stay put. Covered porches wrap three sides and there is an extended deck to the east so you will have no problem enjoying sunrises or sunsets. Versatile sleeping arrangements make Waterloo the perfect cottage for a multiple family vacation.

Watrrloo vacation

We enjoyed our stay very much! The home was comfortable overall,, but not the beds. It is nicely decorated with comfortable furniture in the living room. There were some places missed in the cleaning but overall it was clean. The kitchen was great! It has lots of counter space and is well supplied The icemaker stpped working early in the week. I reported it but noone came to repair it. The water cooler was nice a feature. The negative for me is the trek up the sand hill to get to the beach. If there was a boardwalk, i would plan to stay again.Going out to the beach was difficult for me but not for the younger family members. We enjoyyed all the deck space. Location was great!
