North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Shoes are a must when walking to the beach, as the sand spurs are no joke. We left all shoes at the door so as not to track them inside. Nice covered porch, close to the beach. Needs a good cleaning between guests and a deep clean at least once a month. Other than that the place was perfect for a small family. Would suggest a small gas grill instead of charcoal grill, time for new bedding and towels. We always bring our own so we were ok. Kitchen had all you need, and a Keurig. The cottage was great for our little family! The less than 2 minute walk to the beach was very convenient! The beds were super comfy and the beach was easy to access (although we didn’t see the beach as much as wanted because of rain). There were a lot of other activities nearby including awesome ice cream at Bucks! Wright bros museum was very interesting and the aquarium was a pleasant surprise. ##### Marnie P.
