“For a 1* pension hotel the room I had as a solo traveller was superb ! Good sized room, sink, fridge, and balcony was just perfect. Also the property has clearly been renovated as everything appeared new and the common WC/ shower rooms are very modern with a very hot power shower. Raphael and Carlos keep the property spotlessly clean and do a great job. I highly recommend Pension Alcala, but its best to try and book a room with a balcony ”

“Beautiful aparthotel. Very quiet, excellent service with Cathy. Room cleaned and fresh towels almost daily. Cathy was very helpful in advising us where to go, about the area etc. No pool at the property. But sea and natural pools on the doorstep ”

“lovely place and people. However, I discovered a failure of communication from Expedia to the hotel. Expedia fails to inform the hotel whether the booking is fully paid. Without the voucher, the hotel had the booking but not this information. A system failure at the Expedia end.”

“The views from our room were fabulous. You can see the cliffs and the sea for miles on end. La Gomera island is also visible from the terrace. The pool was very nice too. I'd recommend this place. It was very close to a 4 star hotel. ”

“It is important to note that this is a very small hostel. But that being said, they treat everybody that walks in their door like family. Alejandro the manager is so attentive and friendly and excited about life. He is the perfect host and a cornucopia of information about the island and all the hiking that can be done there.
