The property itself is a well kept location with numerous pools and locations to sit, and is across the boardwalk from the beach. Also, you are close to a grocery store, numerous restaurants and a great food truck lot that we ate dinner in twice. The property owner communication was constant and quick, and could not ask for any better service. Also a huge thing for the property as a whole is the towel vending machines which are a huge hit for everyone there and was probably my my most favorite amenity at the property. Thought the partial ocean view would be a bit of a downside but the mountain views with the constant rainbows was super cool and the focal points of our morning coffees on the lanai. The unit was clean and comfortable and the lanai was spacious with a lovely view. (The bathroom is very big but design wise, it would have been better to enclose the toilet so more people could use the bathroom at the same time.) The welcome box of macadamia chocolates and the bag of coffee was a nice surprise. If I had one suggestion, it would be to supply tissues and bath gel/bath soap as most rentals do. ##### Lynn M. We loved our stay at Honua Kai! The property was beautiful and much quieter than the area near Whalers Village, yet close enough to walk to those attractions. The kitchen had everything we needed including storage containers for packing lunches for the beach. We greatly appreciated the beach chairs, umbrella, cooler and extra beach toys so we didn’t have to rent those items. Check in was a breeze! The valet service when we arrived was amazing after a long day of travel- they brought EVERYTHING up to our condo including all of our groceries. The towel service at the pool was fantastic especially with a large family. Communication with the property manager both prior to our arrival and while we were there was excellent! I just can’t say enough good things about this place. I would recommend it to all of my friends and family and would go back in a heartbeat! ##### Cara D. We had everything we needed. Property manager was very quick to respond but thankfully, we really didn’t have any issues. We traveled with 3 school age children, so we had 2 kids in 1 bedroom and 1 on the pull out sofa. Since we had access to the balcony from the master bedroom, my husband and I were able to relax on the balcony after the kids went to bed. The first few days of our stay the shore break at the beach right outside the resort was a little too rough but we had a lot of fun in the pool and there are calmer beaches close by. Having the restaurant right at the resort was very convenient. Delicious food, but expensive. Would definitely recommend renting or bringing snorkel equipment, because there’s a fair amount to see at the beach at the resort. ##### Sarah Y. This resort is fabulous with pools, beach and an onsite restaurant. This particular condo has a partial view of the ocean from the lanai. Gets great morning sun which means the lanai is shaded in the afternoon during the hotter part of the day. Great communication with the owner and the local manager. Really appreciated the beach gear - chairs, coolers, toys etc. It made for easy days at the beach! We left behind a pool noodle and sand toys for the next guest to enjoy. This was the perfect set up for us and our school aged kiddo with the separate rooms and living room. The kitchen has everything you need to make basic meals. Condo was in great shape except the couch throw pillow covers had seen better days. We let the manager know so they can be replaced. We would definitely stay here again! The amenities were fantastic- the beach access, the pools, the supplies provided to enjoy the beach and the island (boogie boards, big and small cooler, beach chairs, etc)- we would definitely recommend and/or stay here again. Having a full kitchen and a washer/dryer was so nice- a family playing on beaches and hiking etc gets dirty and being able to wash things, vacuum up sand etc, made the stay much more comfortable. The beds were very comfortable, we all slept great. My only suggestion to the owner would be that the couch is probably ready for a deep cleaning or perhaps an upgrade. Just a little stained and frayed but nothing that impacted us. The size and layout of the space worked great for our family of 5 and the resort felt family friendly and we appreciated that. Great size with the extra bedroom. Location of condo and views from the lanai were awesome - very nice for breakfast at sunrise. Communication with owner and Maui property manager was outstanding - all questions were answered promptly and the few minor issues we had during our stay were dealt with quickly. Beds were comfortable and clean. Lots of bath towels. The beach towel service worked great. The appliances were very nice - fridge and washer/dryer seemed brand new. The extras in the closet were really appreciated - beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and cooler. All came in handy. We donated a small cooler that will make future trips to the beach even easier - but all and all the beach extras were great. The resort location is also outstanding - lovely grounds, great pools, good beach and great snorkeling - we saw turtles almost every day. Just a few things that could be improved - the couch in the living room needs to be cleaned or replaced. The cushions were a bit dirty so we had to flip them. Also - the knife set in the kitchen as well as some of the utensils could use a refurbishment. Super minor things that wouldn't keep us from staying again.
