Sleep steps from your own private sandy beach, where you will be ready to tackle a full day of lake life adventure. Launching personal or rented watercraft is a cinch with a public boat launch nearby, and the properties private beach with pier provide you top notch access to the lake. Whether picking up guests to cruise the lake, jumping in the lake to take a swim, or casting a line in the water to catch the big fish with your kids, you may not want to leave the water! Powers Lake offers clear water and a popular sandbar in the middle where locals and visitors gather daily to relax. If the sandbar is not your style, stop by the Rock Bar II for food, drink and entertainment!

The list of outdoor adventure options are abundant, with cyclists and runners enjoying many scenic trails in the region. Circling Powers Lake on land is a very scenic journey that covers ~4.5 miles, and it is very common to see large groups of cyclists cruising through Powers Lake on the county road system. Within 10 miles, you can also access the White River State Trail (19 miles of trail) or the Lake Geneva Shore Path (26 miles of trail). If there are golfers in your group, there are plenty of golf courses in the area.

Shopping is another adventure where treasures are just waiting to be discovered at local boutiques and premium outlets alike. Lake Geneva and Burlington offer a selection of boutique shops just minutes away. There are plenty of name brand deals to be found at the Premium Outlets of Pleasant Prairie, which is a 25 minute ride to the east.

Hosts went above and beyond to accommodate my senior mother with a private bed on main level. They were also accommodating on other requests that I had. It was such a fun, nostalgic place. It was all exactly how I remembered the Old Mill to be and the private beach made for some additional family time. I see a wonderful future for this getaway place!!

Had a great time staying with my larger group of 12. Kitchen was plenty large enough for us all to each at. Location is 15 mins away from Lake Geneva and close to Walmart/other helpful stores. Would definitely stay again.

Great Winter Family Gathering Place

Worked out great for holiday get-together with our adult children. Appreciate the pet option as well. Nicely designed for group dinners and games. Good location for activities -- winter hiking/walking, Yerkes Observatory, and lots of restaurants.Well supplied with kitchen and bath needs.

Great place to gather!

We needed a place for our extended family to gather for the holidays. This was the perfect spot between Madison, Milwaukee, and Chicago! Plus there was a ton of space to spread out when needed. We have 2 small kids, and having a room with 3 beds and a small living area (tv, couch) came in really handy when they woke up before the rest of the family! Would definitely stay again - and imagine this place is magical in the summer with the beach right across the road!!!

Beautiful, spacious stay. Loved having a deck and grill to sit outside and eat family meals. There were a lot of fish on the beach when we got there but was cleaned up the second day we were there. Would highly recommend!

Family Fun Trip

We loved our stay at the Old Mill. There was so much room! Plenty of clean and updated bedrooms and bathrooms. Loved the bar area and large kitchen. The view of the lake was very nice from the first floor and great from the main bedroom. We can’t wait to come back.

Great space to hang with family and entertain!

It was a commercial space previously (THERE IS A BAR!!) so the layout is unusual, but it is spacious. The deck is great and the parking is easy. Also... plenty of beds and linens. It is super clean too. We had a great stay!

Perfect space for groups

The lake house was perfect for our annual family weekend. Lots of space and sleeping arrangements let everyone spread out. The main floor has great open spaces to play games and relax. We had great weather to take advantage of the outside area, loved the large deck and seating by the lake. Would highly recommend to any larger groups!

Family Fun over the 4th

Great convenient location (an hour away) for our family vacation over the 4th of July. Enjoyed this spacious accommodation, which was clean, well-stocked with all the essentials, plus wonderfully comfortable beds. We enjoyed the private beach & fire pit just across the not too busy road & were able to rent a pontoon boat & tour beautiful Powers Lake. An unexpected bonus was the lengthy fireworks display along the lake. Spectacular! Would definitely return for another visit.

Cool place but the outside is not the safest for young kids

The history of the place was amazing, I wish I could learn more. Cool setup and space, spacious for lots of people. The private beach was nice for a camp fire at night and convenient for docking our jet skis. The yard space is small and there is a Main Street between the house and private beach that is busier than we expected so it kept me on high alert with our younger kids and dog.

Best family fishing trip yet!

This home is so close to the public launch that it was so convenient to launch and load. They have a dock for your boat as well, we had to charge batteries only reason we pulled it at night. The home itself was unique experience in my opinion. Simply loved it and so did my kids. They allowed pets which was the added bonus. The communication with the host was super quick and personable as well. 100% recommend. We will be back for sure.

Graduation Gathering

Wanted to come back for our son’s graduation and have a family get together. 6-7 people coming from out of town needed lodging. Plenty of space to host the group and more for a cookout with others. Spacious first floor with bar was great. Large back deck provided extra space outside. Grill was large enough to cook for a big crowd. Kitchen was well appointed. Upstairs bedrooms were comfortable and there was enough space for sleepovers if people had a long drive home and wanted to stay late. We didn’t use the beachfront because it’s early spring but the dock was great. Plenty of room for parking. Would definitely stay again.

Great Summer Getaway

Our stay at Old Mill was just what we needed. The house is very spacious & all bedrooms are upstairs. Our group included kids from under a year to seven years old. Having the beach right across the street was fabulous. The kids swam & fished while the babies napped. The home had every kitchen supply you might need & a 2nd fridge in the large laundry room. There are a phone chargers at several locations in the home which was so handy. The foosball table provided the whole family with some light hearted competition in the evening. We opted not to drop our pontoon boat into Powers Lake because the house is only 50 yards from the launch & the heavy traffic would have left the boat banging off the dock. Our stay was a perfect way to wrap up a very busy summer.

Spring Break Getaway

I can’t say enough about our stay at the “Old Mill”! It was a great home base between our sightseeing adventures! Very convenient location to travel to Chicago as well as explore the local area. Although our trip was in March, we were still able to spend an afternoon enjoying the beautiful beach! What a sunset!!! We stayed with our four children ranging from ages 8 to 16. All of them had comfortable living quarters and lots of room to spread out and play games! There was a fooseball table, cards and other board games there for us to use which was great. My husband and I were able to take a few runs around the lakes and enjoy the beautiful area. The house was very clean and had a great hang out living space and bar area. We were able to get takeout from a local restaurant and enjoy some March madness basketball around the bar. Check in and check out was very easy and communication with Kathleen was also very timely and helpful. We would definitely book this house again… my kids are already asking me if we can go back this summer!
