“We just wrapped-up our week long family vacation at Jewel Lodge on Mantrap Lake. This home is a true jewel, as it addressed everything our large group needed for a fantastic week. The home is beautiful, extremely well equipped and easily accommodated a group of 18 people (8 kids under 11). John and Wendy are great hosts and were quick to answer any questions and assist with any needs the group had. Everyone had a great time and are already looking forward to next year's stay!”

“We stayed for our recent trip to visit the Mississippi Headwaters. Located across the street from the entrance road. Headwaters are about a 5 minute drive.The room is as advertised. We thoroughly enjoyed fishing, kayaking, boating, swimming, paddle boarding and floating on Lake Pickerel, along with great bonfires and making s’mores in the evening with a beautiful view of the lake. Being able to use all the paddle boards and Kayaks was amazing and so fun!! We rented their pontoon and had many hours of enjoyment fishing from it as well as swimming in the middle of the lake. “Drop dead gorgeous lake without the jammed, crowded lake houses so many other Minnesota lakes offer. Unique island location. The sauna was immensely popular with everyone. Special feeling to float in the lake at night after the sauna experience. Armada of toys and games kept the young ones engaged. Kayaks and paddle boards. “Absolutely lovely. Small, pristine and quiet lake. We live south of the Twin Cities; hearing all manner of loon calls was mesmerizing. Close to Lake Itasca State Park and the Mississippi headwaters. Owners so kind and nearby and available for any need with just the right amount of involvement.”
