About this property
Sunset mountain views, hot tub and fenced yard
Summary:
Watch the sun set over the mountains from the wraparound deck, fire table lit, dogs worn out from a day in the fully fenced yard. Built for families and groups traveling with dogs: two living spaces, a full kitchen plus a kitchenette, a full bath on every level, and a hot tub on the covered patio. Paved roads in a gated community, 6 minutes to Lake Lure, 17 to Chimney Rock, 23 to Tryon Equestrian Center. Guests come back for repeat stays, and reviews say the photos don't do the view justice.
The Space:
The cabin sits at the end of a paved cul-de-sac in a quiet gated community, with sunset views over the mountains. You park on the paved driveway and take 3 steps up to the front door on the main level. Three levels, each with its own bedroom and full bath, so two families can share the house without sharing a hallway.
Main level: a two-story living room with floor-to-ceiling windows on the view, a stone-faced wood stove, a shelf of board games, and a full kitchen with a gas cooktop, dishwasher, Keurig, and a dining table for 6 plus 2 island stools. French doors open to the wraparound deck.
Loft: a second sitting area with a TV, a futon, and the highest view in the house.
Ground level: a private living room with a kitchenette and its own door to the covered patio.
Sleeping:
Bedroom 1: queen bed, full bath, main level
Bedroom 2: queen bed and two twin beds, full bath, loft level
Bedroom 3: queen bed, full bath with walk-in shower, ground level
Downstairs living room: sofa bed
Outside, all private: the wraparound deck with a dining table, rocking chairs, a gas fire table, and a gas grill plumbed into the house gas line, so there is no tank to swap; a covered patio with the hot tub, serviced weekly; and a fully fenced yard, large and sloped, that guests call "very safely fenced." There is a basketball hoop on the driveway. Washer and dryer in the house; bring your own detergent.
The entire home is yours.

Guest Access:
You have the entire cabin, all three levels, the wraparound deck, the covered patio with the hot tub, and the fenced yard. Nothing is shared. The patio and hot tub are on the ground level, reached by the inside stairs or the yard. Park up to 4 cars on the paved driveway. There are 3 steps up to the front door, and stairs inside to the loft and the ground level. Self check-in with a keypad smart lock; your door code and the community gate code arrive two days before arrival. Check-in is 4 pm, checkout is 10 am. Early check-in or late checkout is available on request when the calendar allows.
The Neighborhood:
A quiet gated mountain community, good for an evening walk with the dog. Ingles grocery is 5 minutes away. Everything below is a short drive:
- Lake Lure (6 min): swimming, boating and lakeside dining
- Lake Lure Beach (14 min): sandy shoreline and water sports
- Town of Chimney Rock (17 min): gateway to Chimney Rock State Park for hiking, climbing and long mountain views
- Rumbling Bald Resort (20 min): golf, beach and lakeside recreation (resort passes not included)
- Tryon International Equestrian Center (23 min): equestrian events, dining and shopping
Asheville and the Biltmore Estate are about an hour, a day trip rather than a base.
Getting Around:
You'll need a car. Everything is a drive: groceries, the lake, restaurants and trailheads. Inside the gate, the neighborhood roads are quiet enough for walking the dog.
Other Things to Note:
- Dogs are welcome. The pet fee is $85 per pet, per stay, not per night. If the booking form won't accept the right number of pets, message me.
- Roads are paved all the way to the driveway, and the community is gated.
- The hot tub is private and serviced weekly. You may see our tech stop by the patio during a longer stay.
- The grill runs on the house gas line; no propane needed. We supply propane for the fire table. The wood stove is yours to use; bring your own firewood.
- This is bear country. Bagged trash goes in the locking outdoor bin, never beside it, and stay with your dog in the yard after dark.
- The house is heated and cooled by mini-splits, one remote per zone. Set every zone to the same mode, all heat or all cool.
- Quiet hours are 10 pm to 8 am.

My family truly enjoyed this home. Great mountain views and sunsets. The location is very close to everything you need and Lake Lure. We highly recommend this home.
Home was very clean and just as described. The view was spectacular! We had no issues at all and felt as if the host had really tried to make sure that our stay was pleasant.
This house has a beautiful view from the deck and is a 5 minute drive to the lake. Perfect location. The owner was great and had easy instructions for checking out. I would highly recommend this house.
Overall impression was good. Some concerns that I think that would make for a more pleasant stay are:1) Have clearly written instructions on how to operate some of the equipment in the house i.e., the T.V. We had a hard time figuring out the T.V. because we were not familiar with how to operate it in order to get local channels.2) Same problem with the heating/cooling appliances. Need instructions.3) Had to disconnect kitchen smoke detector as it kept going off. Weak battery and no replacements available.4) Jon was helpful. I hated to have to call him so much, but he was courteous when I called with my concerns.5) Correspondence with check in at main gate and house was not communicated well enough for me to understand. Jon talked us in, thankfully!
