They got us checked in very fast....The rooms were clean and nicely decorated,.

This property is centrally located to both the Leelenau and Mission wine trails. It is also walkable to downtown Traverse City. The beds were comfortable and the shower was good. Parking also free and convenient. The downside is parts of the hotel seem outdated and worn and could use some updating.

We needed a quick weekend trip to visit the island and we stayed at the Island House Hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and professional they kept our devices while we explored the island before our check-in time. The ferry took our bags straight to the hotel so we didn't have to take them with us and after we checked in they brought them up to our room. The hotel was very clean and the body wash smelled so good that we are purchasing it for our home. The rooms are small but I can see why. Breakfast was not free but the service was great, Next time we will just have breakfast off the property. We loved it and would stay here again, it's in a perfect location. Not in the middle of Main Street chaos but close enough that you can sit and watch.

This is a well kept property. The entry has a lovely vaulted ceiling and a staircase up to the second floor that makes it easy and natural to take the stairs instead of waiting for an elevator.
