As soon as we arrived, the front desk person didn’t greet us at all. She seemed rushed and had an attitude, which was not a great first impression. The hotel looks like it’s from the Brady Bunch era. It is clean, but because of its older appearance, it feels like it hasn’t been updated or well maintained. Also, be prepared to spend extra money because they charge for many things. They don’t offer complimentary coffee or even water, which was disappointing. Overall, I feel the hotel is very outdated and could use some renovations and better customer service.

The units are small renovated apartments. They are clean and nice decorations. However there was no toilet paper and when I texted the number I had used to get our keyless entry info I received no response. There was shower gel in the corner of the bathroom but no shampoo. Not was there a top sheet in the bed only a comforter. It did serve our needs for the 2 nights we were there.

Facilities were as advertised and expected. Staff was friendly and helpful. We were put in a room facing the pool and asked if there was a room available across the hall facing the golf course. It was late when we checked in and unfortunately there were no rooms which were clean. However, the next morning, Cindy at the front desk had housekeeping clean a room for us right across the hall. Thank you for all your help, Cindy! The BIG negative of the room was the internet service, or lack of. Yes, you do have internet service. However, what is provided at no charge is so slow, it was basically useless. When trying to open emails, I thought I was back in the early days of AOL, using a modem. I eventually just gave up trying to read my emails and resorted to just using my phone to read any emails that required my attention. You could purchase faster internet for $8/day. However, I refused, out of principal, to pay an additional fee for "working" internet when internet service is advertised as being provided. Shanty Creek should be ashamed of themselves, and I will never stay at this unless this facility again unless the internet situation is resolved. I do not know what the internet situation is at the other Shanty Creek properties.

Clean facilities. Friendly staff. Nice casino atmosphere.
