Disappointing Five-Night Stay!! Unfortunately, our stay at RIU Palace Paradise fell far below expectations. Our first room had sticky, slippery floors, a cockroach, and foul-smelling water leaking through the floor. The layout and enclosed balcony were also different from the booking photos. After several complaints, we were moved on the third night, but the replacement room also had wet, sticky floors. The Wi-Fi was unavailable all day Friday, preventing my husband from working remotely. When I left my phone in a taxi, hotel security provided very little assistance despite having cameras; another taxi driver ultimately helped us to locate the driver in During our five-night stay, management never followed up or attempted to address our concerns. Some servers were inattentive, and the advertised resort credit offered little value. Overall, the cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service were very disappointing. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this hotel

The staff was incredibly helpful but I have to share that when I was getting on the elevator with my two small children ages 9 and 3, the elevator doors began to close and even as a stepped in to push open the doors they continued closing. Understandably this frightened not only me, but my two kids. When we went downstairs to notify the staff of what could've been a horrific situation they shared that someone had notified them of a burning smell near the elevators and that they were conducting maintenance. I am sick to my stomach thinking about what could've happened and am grateful that no one was injured.

10/10 — My girlfriend and I recently stayed at St. Francis Resort, and it was absolutely beautiful. If you’re looking to truly get away and experience Exuma without the crowds of a typical resort, this is the place. The bungalow-style accommodations sit on a hillside overlooking the ocean, with solar power and rainwater catchment that add to the unique, eco-friendly feel. Just steps away is a pristine beach that we essentially had to ourselves. At times, it genuinely felt like our own private island. You arrive by a quick boat ride from Georgetown to Stocking Island, and the staff is fantastic. Everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and willing to arrange anything we needed. We chose the all-inclusive option, and the food was excellent. There’s plenty to explore. You can kayak over to Chat ’N’ Chill for fresh conch salad and a souvenir shop, or head up the shore to Coconut Club. Some guests rented their own boats, and St. Francis also has a boatman who can take you wherever you’d like to go. Our room didn’t have a TV, but that turned out to be a positive — we actually unplugged and enjoyed the incredible surroundings. Beautiful, peaceful, unpretentious, and a completely different experience from a conventional resort. Huge thank you to the entire staff for taking such great care of us. We would absolutely come back. 10/10!
