In addition to the lake and the pool house, there is a lot to do in the surrounding area. Virginia now boasts many world class wineries. If wine isn’t your thing, there are many breweries and distilleries to choose from. If you are up for physical activity you can kayak or board on the lake. Or you can find great hiking nearby or not far away in Shenandoah National Park. And if you like quaint old towns, well, there are plenty to visit nearby. It was our first time at Lake of the Woods and the house was perfect for our family. The teens could walk to the beach or go to the pool during the day and enjoy a fire in the pit at night.
