Stayed here for ease day before a long haul, air con did not work so had to change rooms then sheets were stained, then no running water. Waste of time and money and not relaxing at all, should have stayed at home. Will submit a trip advisor review with details

Really liked the Sofitel. Very comfortable bed made it feel like you were floating thanks to the mattress topper. Nice environment and so convenient for the North terminal. Tried the Asian restaurant which was good with friendly staff.

Convenient walk from train station to the welcoming Sofitel. Nicely appointed stylish room overlooking the lobby and bar. Enjoyed the ambience in the downstairs bar. Next morning after we checked out the friendly staff looked after our bags while we trained into London for last minute shopping before catching our evening flight from Gatwick. So easy so would definitely stay again.

We booked 3 rooms and requested they be near each other, two connecting. I received confirmation from Sofitel that our requests could be met. This was OVER 2 MONTHS before the stay. At check-in, we were given 3 rooms on COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FLOORS. When I asked about our requests, the receptionist said "Sorry, there are no more connecting rooms, guests who checked-in earlier got them" EXCUSE ME? We booked a hotel at the airport because we had an evening flight & it wasnt after-hours. REMINDER: I RECEIVED CONFIRMATION OF CONNECTING ROOMS 2 MONTHS IN ADVANCE. I showed the confirmation email and the receptionist said the message didn't come from the hotel. There was no record of our request. Well then someone is parading as Sofitel on Expedia and replying to guests because its clearly signed "Sofitel London Gatwick"! At this point we were all tired (baby, 2 kids, grandparents, and my husband & I). Three separate floors was absolutely not an option. "The best they could do" was two rooms on one floor (opposite sides of the hotel) and one room on a separate floor. As my son and I tiptoed in our pajamas across the hotel to our second room (our family packed a single suitcase) a woman checked-in to the room ACROSS THE HALL. I find the entire situation COMPLETELY absurd. A hotel of this size should be able to manage communications and accommodate their loyal guests (we have stayed 3x in 12 months and were offered room upgrades the day before. There were plenty of empty rooms)

Last minute booking prior to an early morning flight. On arrival, reception couldn't find my reservation (maybe because I booked it about an hour earlier so it hadn't come through on their system yet), but did eventually find it and upgraded me for my troubles. The bed was ridiculously comfortable. Very convenient location - literally steps from the terminal/shuttle. One thing I would have loved would be to have a bathrobe - but that's a tiny gripe. I would stay again.

The staff were lovely and the choice of food available is amazing! We really enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel. Only problem was finding it from the South Terminal, we got a bit lost but that’s likely our fault.

Thoroughly enjoyed our pre-flight stay. Easy access, quick check-in by cheerful staff and a great casual dining experience in the main bar. Room was clean and fresh with a very comfortable bed and big walk-in shower. Absolutely everything we needed for a restful night before a long journey.

As usual this is a fantastic hotel. The staff are wonderful and very friendly especially Margo in the 8th floor lounge. The rooms are large and very clean and had everything you need. This hotel is highly recommended, especially the 8th floor lounge. 5 stars.

Staff and Italian restaurant all very good. Family room perfect size for family of 4, good amenities and clean. Unfortunately the air con does not work, we turned it down to 15 degrees but it stayed at 22/23 degrees all night, all of us had trouble sleeping as the room was so hot and stuffy, consequently we felt dreadful in the morning before our flight. Such a shame this is an ideal hotel for north terminal, but if u can’t sleep it defeats the object of coming down the night before to get a good nights rest ahead of a morning flight

Very convenient for both North and South terminals. Lift from airport to hotel was broken, not a huge issue for us as we could use the escalator without any problems. Lift from lobby to rooms made a terrible nice that 1) didn’t feel us with confidence when using it 2) could be heard from the room resulting in a lot of disturbance during the night. The room itself was clean and the beds comfortable. Shower worked well. We ate in the Asian restaurant which was expensive for the quality of the food. Overall it was ok.

On arrival allocated the room but the key didn’t work went to reception, they said the key would know work know, went back to the room and it still didn’t work then realised they had changed the room number without telling us. Room un serviced, shower tray waste not inplace we had to ring for milk for the room and were handed a bag of tea coffee etc with no apologies just here and left! When asked at the bar what lagers they had the person didn’t know and then had to find a menu. Food was good and quick. Experience was poor for the type of hotel.

Great hotel, friendly staff, sumptuously comfortable bed, great choice of bathroom products. Always my go to hotel for airport convenience, just a very short walk.

Book an external facing room
All was good apart from room overlooked the central atrium with reception, cocktail bar and cafe. Very disturbed night because voices and laughter echoed up through the atrium until early morning. This was just regular noise not raucous partying. …..and then it started up again before dawn as people checked out - or in. . Disappointed there are no bathrobes in the rooms here although there are at Heathrow term 5 Sofitel. The only reason we booked
