The room was not cleaned properly - red dust ! on the side table - moths in the towel in the bathroom.
Food very poor in the restaurant.
It’s a shame as the main building is a thing of beauty but the lodges and the food I ordered on the night are very poor. Almost £7.00 for a beer is a little too heavy also.

Plus is location. Unfortunately they chose to do a construction project directly below our room in the evening while we were trying to sleep and the nose was bad. Our room refrigerator did not work and overall the room and general condition of hotel is a bit worn and tired.

"Great hotel in central Basingstoke, close to everything. There was a function the night we stayed, it was very noisy but the staff moved us to a lovely room away from the noise. Special thanks to Beth 🙏"
