It’s good, inexpensive property in Colmar. Not far from the centre, about 10 min walking. Our unit was even better than in the picture, and very clean. Even though hotel initially responded by email that the parking would not be available for our stay, after arrival we were offered a parking spot right away. Swimming pool is nice.

Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location with exceptional staff. Not all of the windows have fly screens and there were numerous wasps and other flying insects outside. Because of this I did not feel comfortable to have the windows open, even during the recent heat wave. Appreciate that air conditioning units cannot be fitted due to the age and character of the building but fly screens should be achievable. There was a fan in the room and this helped for me but even so, my laptop got very hot and would not charge. Later when moved to a cool location, it was fine. I would love to visit again but probably not during a heat wave.

The hotel is well situated across the street from the main entrance of the train station in Colmar. The reception area appeared good, the ladies were nice at reception. and breakfast was decent. With that said the room I had was really worn down- carpet was filthy, furniture and door frame with chip marks. The closet area looked dirty. Bathroom was very worn down and dingy, shower area was disgusting and toilet seat paint chipped, shower faucet was missing hardware. The room needed a remodel! I will look for another hotel to stay the next time I return back to Colmar.

No working AC in August, and terrible customer service! We specifically booked a hotel with air conditioning because we knew it could be hot in Basel in August, but the AC unit never cooled our room at all during our 3-night stay. The only time the temperature on the thermostat ever dropped was when we opened the windows in the evening, but we could not leave them open because of noise from the train station and nearby streets. When we alerted the desk clerk to the issue, he assured us they would have maintenance address it, but the issue was never resolved. What made things worse was the attitude of management when we raised the issue again and requested an adjustment to our bill. The manager insisted that the AC was working as designed (despite the fact that it never cooled our room), and that the problem was with our expectations and lack of understanding of European AC systems. This approach (and the extremely nominal discount offered) was insulting and false. We’ve stayed in numerous European and Swiss hotels, and never encountered a situation where the AC did not cool the room. We were not asking for rapid cooling, or a frigid room temperature; we just wanted the ability to cool the room down at night, even by a degree or two, to make it more comfortable. The lack of functional AC was disappointing; management’s “blame the customer” approach made the whole experience infinitely worse. We will not stay at this property again.
