![I was atop Mt. Chopok, in the Low Tatras Mountains. Chopok is at 2,024 m (6,640 ft) and is the 3rd highest peak of the Low Tatra Range. The views were truly breathtaking from there! Including the meteorological observatory tower covered in snow. But, most of my time in Slovakia was in the High Tatras. The mountains there are even bigger and more epic. I was based in the small city of Poprad and took trips every day. I was in Slovakia in September 2015, too. But this was my 1st time in winter! And with a good camera ;). I also had a wonderful time in Budapest, as well! My very 1st time there. But, while I spent most of my time in the High Tatras I loved being in the Low Tatras! The mountains were absolutely magnificent! And I came to Chopok at a perfect time of day :).

"THE WORST PLACE EVER IN MY LIFE! In the morning I noticed that I got bitten by a bug. But I never knew what it was. I went back to my home and for few weeks I found my skin is so itchy, and I found the bed bugs. This ruined my weeks and it cost a lot to call the expert to disinfect everything at my house. I am 100 percent sure that it came from here because I have never exprienced this before. JUST DONT GO THERE."

Waarschijnlijk omdat er nauwelijks gasten waren was de service bizar slecht, het zal hopelijk beter zijn op drukke dagen. "Rooms are modern and clean, Breakfast was very good with varied options and plenty of choice. Good Ski/Snowboard set up with rental shop in the lobby (very reasonable priced) and a ski-room for storage. Location is good, short walk to town and Termy spa. Wider Zakopane - snow wasnt great and the ski areas by the hotel (Kasprowy Wierch) were mostly closed (not great for early feb) - we typically travelled to Białka Tatrzańska which was better. Uber Ski is a good service. NB take Cash if you want to split the bills at local restuarants! "

"We had a great stay at the Kempinski High Tatrus. This hotel had an established, genuinely 5 star feel. It knows what it is, and delivers brilliantly. The setting is outstanding, with a frozen lake and snow on the ground, but we didn’t see a cloud in 4 days. The service is great, and the breakfast generous. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable; there is a pillow and duvet menu… all in a great stay. "
