My spouse and I stayed 4 nights in July as I was attending a conference at UW-Madison. The 15-minute drive was not a problem at all, and one of us even walked it one time (80 minutes?). If I had it to do over, I might bring a bicycle, as Madison is so bike friendly and I would have saved tons on parking! :)
There was a heat wave the first couple of days, but the A/C kept the apartment cold (I cannot comment on the hot tub 😂). The extra touches were much appreciated -- hotel-style towels and soaps, local coffee beans/grinder, snacks, a few local microbrews in the fridge, so many cute and helpful notes posted all around. We loved that the owners property is a Certified Wildlife Habitat from the National Wildlife Federation! Check out the photos. We also took a morning walk in the adjacent conservation area and enjoyed the beautiful wildflowers.
The hosts gave us our space but were quick to answer messages or texts, even allowing me to have an Amazon package delivered (as I had misplaced my clip-on readers and needed to see). Please note that even though the photos show two dogs with the caption "pet friendly," these are the owners dogs and they do not allow your personal pets.
