We landed in Mahe at about 8:00 AM after traveling for about 24 hours (RDU-JFK-DOHA-SEZ), and everything went smoothly. We took a Cab to the Hotel as the check-in was at 2:00 PM, and we were not in a hurry. We landed at the Hotel around 9:30 AM and checked in. We changed our clothes in the changing room and were asked to go to Northside Beach and told that we would be called as soon as the Villa was ready. We got to the beach around 10:00 AM and expected to be given a Villa within a couple of hours. We found a spot under the shade and settled down. One hour goes by, Two hours go by, and no news. Three hours go by, and no news. Four hours go by, and no news. Keep in mind that we just traveled 24 hours and needed to shower and take a nap. No one asked if we were doing OK. If we needed water or anything else. No Internet Facility. They just dumped us at the beach and forgot about us. It was 85 Degrees, and hanging out at the beach for the first day for hours was not part of the plan.
Finally, we got up and went to the reception at 2:30 PM, complaining about why we had not been given the Villa. Within a few minutes, a buggy showed up with Yogi (concierge), and she took us to the Villa. Our luggage was already in the room, and we assumed the room had been ready for a couple of hours. There seemed to be a communication breakdown during the handover between the person who checked us in vs. Yogi taking care of us. No explanation was given. No Apologies.
