A gem of a hotel, well appointed comfortable rooms, very friendly staff. Fully refurbished a couple of years ago, it has taken technology to heart with tablets in every room replacing that little folder that tells you about the hotel and area which worked well. Instead of the door hanging “do not disturb/clean my room“ paper sign they have a digital switch by the door that lights up outside the room, unfortunately it didn’t work for our room. The TV has only sky news & BBC world for UK customers and although it has an apps area, no Netflix or Amazon apps to enter your id into. It has casting / Mirrorcasting apps, which were not working with our iPads. None of these techno fails were anything other than minor irritations but ought to be fixed to make this great little hotel even better. We used the restaurant mainly for breakfast although we did have lunch on occasions. Breakfast was mainly a continental type breakfast with the option of freshly cooked eggs to order. It wasn’t a vast choice but it was all fresh and the buffet was kept well supplied by the friendly staff. The food we had at lunch was absolutely delicious and again served by efficient friendly wait staff. Overall this is a great place to stay, location is superb, equidistant from the old town and the promenade, handy for bars and restaurants, beautiful park just up the road, staff make you feel very welcome. Would I stay here again ? unequivocally yes, I’m staying here again for Christmas week.
