This was our first time going to Ottawa, the Sheraton was like a good location for a reasonable price. We got a room on the 11th floor, unfortunately our view was of a high-rise office building with floor to ceiling windows. The room was nice enough, very good sized and the bed was comfortable. The carpet did not look the cleanest, and the bathroom was quite basic for almost $200 a night. The employees were very friendly and welcoming, they allowed us to check in 2 hours early since our flight arrived early in the day. They also were happy to hold our bags for us on the last day until our flight home, which was really nice. Definitely add the breakfast onto your fee, it’s well worth the added cost. The breakfast serving staff were exceptional, very attentive and friendly. Food was delicious. Overall it was a satisfactory experience, considering the price and our length of stay! I would book again.

Unfortunately, our stay left us feeling uncomfortable and, at times, treated differently. From the moment we arrived, we noticed a difference in how we were treated compared with other guests. The door attendant opened the door and welcomed others, but did not offer us the same courtesy. At check-in, the receptionist was cold and unwelcoming, while we saw other guests receiving warmer attention and discussions about room upgrades. Later, while taking a family photo near the Canada mail heritage display in the lobby, a staff member kept watching us closely. We were simply taking a photo, but the way we were monitored made us feel as though we were suspected of doing something wrong. It was embarrassing and made us feel unwelcome. Our first room also had a loud, continuous noise from the AC. We were exhausted and could not sleep. A technician told us the noise was normal, yet we had to change rooms in the middle of the night. The second room was completely quiet. This made the earlier response even more frustrating. I do not want to accuse anyone or make assumptions about their intentions, but the overall pattern left us feeling that we were treated differently because of our appearance or background. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously and ensures that every guest, regardless of their background or appearance, receives the same level of respect, warmth, and hospitality.

We were giving an accessible suite which meant the bathroom took up a lot of space. Otherwise it was good and walkable to most places
